The News of Today is the History of Tomorrow —
Commentary by Larry Schweikart
IN POLITICAL NEWS
1) Whoa! In PA, Quinnipiac (no friend of President Trump,) he beats Rutabaga by 2. Remember, he "lost" in 2020 by about 1. That's a three-point shift, but Dave McCormack loses to Casey in the Senate race by 6.
2) As would be expected, Yertle complained about the motion to vacate the chair rule.
-God forbid that the people's representatives actually have a choice in who speaks for them.
3) Now, the race is on for the new speaker. Among those mentioned: Jim Jordan (who previously didn't want it), Steve Scalese, and President Trump, who said his total focus was on being president, right after he said he'd consider it.
-Trump is not the right temperament for Speaker, a 24/7 herding cats job. But it would sure be fun to watch the meltdown if he were elected.
4) Several new polls have DeSantis being crushed in Florida, Iowa, and New Hampshire: "He's losing everywhere." Trump's lead in Florida is his largest yet. Pollster Kevin Wagner of Florida Atlantic said, "The question in this race was how much of DeSantis's support was derivative of Trump. And the answer appears to be: a lot."
5) Catherine Herridge reported that in the Hunter Biteme docs, "Political Figure 1" is Rutabaga.
6) A high-level Iranian spy ring was busted in D.C. Was this guy one of them?
7) Love it. This is how you play hardball. Under McCarthy, Botoxic had kept her private capitol office. Acting speaker Patrick McHenry ordered it cleaned out forthwith, and Hakeem Jeffries' squad had to do the honors while Botoxic was boozing it up at FinkStink's funeral in Kollyfornia.
8) Steny Hoyer was also given the boot out of his hideaway office.
9) Meanwhile, Congressman Henry Cuellar says DC is "more dangerous" than his Texas district after a carjacking."
10) This is, unfortunately, true. Americans have much shorter lifespans now than people in other advanced nations. Alcohol, drugs, gun deaths, and the vax all played a part. Obesity is probably the single biggest killer indirectly.
11) More sanctuary city crybaby pleas for Texas towns to divert illegal criminals from Denver. Hell to the no.
-SEND. THEM. ALL.
12) While residents in a mostly Hispanic Chicago neighborhood protest opening a migrant shelter there. Vote Republican, amigos.
13) Meanwhile, in D.C., the CVS drugstore chain shelves are bare as thieves plan robberies around delivery times. So, that'll teach 'em. You just have no products on shelves.
14) Laura Loomer, who has the receipts, says Kevin McCarthy has transferred over $1.8 million from the "Protect the House 2024" fundraising committee to his own McCarthy for Congress committee.
15) Challenges to the hoax January 6/Patriot Day "obstruction" persecutions are piling up at the Supreme Court.
16) Scientists have printed functional skin for the first time, giving hope to burn victims.
-Now, if they can print a functional soul, all DemoKKKrats will rejoice.
IN TRANSOID NEWS
17) Here is a full report and expose of Andy Stanley's "Embracing the Journey" homosexual/transoid conference. A reporter managed to get in ("we don't want the wrong crowd trying to sneak in"). Throughout the conference, homosexuality as a standard, moral and necessary theological good was assumed . . . . there was no hint or suggestion that homosexuality was a sin that must be repented of."
18) The Swimming World Cup scrapped its plans for an "open" category for transoid swimmers after no one signed up. Seems weirdo men don't want to compete with others who might actually beat them.
IN ECONOMIC NEWS
19) Office markets in Groomer City and Silicon Valley get even worse.
20) ADP jobs added slowed to just 89,000, while credit card delinquencies at small banks hit record levels.
21) Too funny. Starburqua will close seven locations in Groomer City.
22) Apple CEO Tim Cook just dumped 511,000 shares valued at $87 million.
23) Nearly 60% of Americans want big business to get out of politics.
IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS
24) China keeps Sri Lanka in debt grip, stalling IMF relief. This is for the port the ChiComs built that no one uses.
25) Center right El Salvadoran president Nayib Bukele has an overwhelming lead. He was the guy who put tons of narco-terrorists in jail.
26) Sweden and the lethal complacency of the elites.
27) Love it. Switzerland will ban electric vehicles from roads during winter weather events.
28) Some 800 climate spy cameras in London have been damaged or stolen in a populist revolt against the green agenda.
29) A Swiss writer was sentenced to 60 days in jail for calling a journalist a "fat lesbian."
-First, was it true she was fat? If so, what's the problem? Second, if she was indeed a lesbian, isn't that a badge of honor these days? He was doing her a favor. I guess he could have been more cautious and called her a hornified heifer muzzle jumper.
IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
30) There was no entertainment news. All the entertainment was in the House of Representatives.
IN CHINA VIRUS NEWS
31) Rutabaga's evil administration is trying to rewrite the history of the China Virus, now claiming they didn't make anyone take the vax.
AND FINALLY...
32) It appears that having a Cheesecake Factor in a mall makes it financially viable. 90% of malls with a CF are current on loan payments, compared to only 72% that don't have the restaurant.
Flashback: My wife and I had just gotten married and were honeymooning in Redondo Beach (ya have to understand, back then, it was nice). We walked one night—remember we were from Dayton, Ohio, which was not exactly the cultural center of the universe, although we did have a Hothead Burrito. Anyway, we came to a Cheesecake Factory. I don't imbibe on cheesecake, but for Mrs. LS, then an aerobics instructor who burned about 600,000 calories a day, it was heaven. And we still haven't been through the whole menu.
