#1 HHS Overhaul of Organ Harvesting Is Long Overdue -  Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, White Dragon, Leonarda Jonie/Sandeep Jauhar/Gin Rain, Life Issues Institute, Michael the Texan, and Title Town Times on X
“One organ donor can save eight lives,” as the saying goes. That accurate and crafty claim with an emotional punch likely emerged in the late 20th century as organ transplantation became more established. The phrase reflects the medical reality that a single donor—assumed to be deceased, of course—can provide up to eight major organs: heart, two lungs, liver, two kidneys, pancreas, and intestines, allowing those in desperate need to continue living following their donor’s death. With that delicate fact in mind, should hospitals, which profit hugely from organ transplantation, authorize the organ procurement process to commence while the potential donor still shows signs of being alive? U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy rightly doesn’t think so. Yet, an eye-opening HHS investigation under his leadership highlights that it is indeed happening. In a July 21, 2025, statement announcing “a major initiative” to reform the organ transplant system, Kennedy remarked...

#2 Trump’s Penalty Threat Puts India in a Bind Over Russian Oil - Lim Hui Jie for CNBC, Prady the Seeker, Thomas M Ganousis, Anand Paramasivam, Agnivo Neogi, and Timelessvoice on X

India is navigating a tricky balancing act after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened a “penalty” over its continued imports of Russian oil — a trade that New Delhi appears reluctant to end anytime soon. Despite Trump telling reporters Friday that he “heard” India would halt purchases, officials in New Delhi have remained noncommittal. Foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the country decides its energy import sources “based on the price at which oil is available in the international market and depending on the global situation at that time.” “The Indians must be having some confusion” following Trump’s threat — a reversal from the more tolerant approach taken under the Biden administration, Bob McNally, president of consulting firm Rapidan Energy Group, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Asia.”

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced Friday that it will begin shutting down, weeks after Congress canceled previously approved funding for the nation's steward of public media access. The CPB said in a statement that it will begin an "orderly wind-down" of its operations after nearly 60 years with the support of the federal government.  It said that most staff positions will conclude with the close of the fiscal year on Sept. 30. A small team of employees will remain through January 2026, it added. It did not specify how many people in total were being laid off...

President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to travel to Russia later this week, the president told reporters on Sunday, in a bid to secure an elusive ceasefire deal "where people stop getting killed." Witkoff will travel to Moscow on either Wednesday or Thursday, Trump told reporters. Witkoff heads to Russia amid building frustration in the White House, with six months of diplomacy under Trump having failed to achieve a peace deal -- or even a ceasefire -- to end Moscow's full-scale invasion of its neighbor, which began in February 2022...

#5 Trump Says the Bureau of Labor Statistics Orchestrated a ‘Scam.’ - David Goldman for CNN Business, Breaking 911, Bob Weeks, Digital Gal, AndyOz2, bing, and Congressman Dan Meuser on X

President Donald Trump claimed without evidence that the massive revisions to the latest jobs report constituted a “scam,” accusing one of the top overseers of government statistics of cooking the books in a vendetta against his presidency. “In my opinion, today’s Jobs Numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad,” Trump said in a message on Truth Social Friday. As a result, he fired Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics...

#7 Dr. Oz Exposes the Nonprofit Lie at the Heart of US Health Care - Nicholas L. Waddy, Face the Nation/Diversity Counts,  GLORIA BREDEHOEFT, Mario Nawfal/DOGEai, The Real Jefferson, and DrOzCMS on X

American health care is a paradox. We spend more than any nation in history — nearly 20% of our GDP — yet our outcomes remain stubbornly mediocre. New hospitals rise like monuments to excess. Their parking lots fill with luxury cars. Tax dollars pour in from every level of government. Private spending remains sky-high. But while the profits flow, patient satisfaction and results don’t keep pace. That’s because the system doesn’t reward quality. It rewards short-term financial performance...

Joe Biden’s inner circle are reportedly preparing to spill all the beans on just how awful Kamala Harris was as Vice President should her upcoming book put him in a bad light. That’s according to journalist Mark Halperin, who claims Biden loyalists have a store of embarrassing stories they’re holding back but will make public should Harris negatively reference Biden’s cognitive decline. It’s now common knowledge that Biden’s camp, particularly his wife, despise Harris for going along with the Democratic Party coup against Joe...
