Editors Note: This is the last in a multipart series by guest contributor Robert Patrick Lewis.
This is the last section that we will be covering in this series, but it is perhaps the most important of all. To some people, religion is no more than time wasted by stupid people who believe in things that aren’t provable. But to others (myself included), religion fills an important part of their lives, their psyche, their personality, their family, and their entire being. Faith helps keep the social fabric of a society together, faith-based organizations have helped many millions of people around the world, but most of all it gives many of us hope, faith, and a willingness to look for something higher than ourselves to look up to and strive to emulate. And it is these very points that make them such an enemy of Marxism.
Marxist regimes require loyalty of party above all, absolute faith in the party, absolute love of the party, and absolute dedication to the party - and if you can’t provide or at least fake each of these requirements, you’re killed or jailed until you can be re-educated. Because Marxism brings such misery to any population that has been blind enough to allow it to gain control, propaganda, iron-fisted control, and absolute adherence to the party line are required.
When a populace is surrounded by propaganda it’s possible to forget reality, as much of its purpose is to force you to believe that you are the only unhappy one, as your friends and countrymen and women starve to death or are executed all around you.
Religion gives people hope, a realization that things can always be better, and a charge to live our lives by the good word of whichever religious teaching we choose to follow.
But in Marxism, we may only follow the party.
We are beginning to see this all around us in the leftists in our nation today, in that they cling to politics and leftists’ ideals as if it were a religion - because it is a religion to them. The party is everything to them, and so religion, an enemy of the party, is an enemy of theirs. This is why we see Christianity, the main religious following in America, as one of their main targets.

- Pol Pot saw Buddhist monks as “parasites,” designated them to a special class of their own, and sent everyone that his Khmer Rouge could find to labor camps.
- Hitler famously made a political agreement with the Catholic Church, but the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) later found that he had plans to completely demolish the Church in its entirety after the war, as it was, in his own words, “absurdity and nonsense founded on lies.”
- Mussolini was deeply influenced by Nietzsche’s anti-Christian ideas and strove for the negation of God’s existence. Nietzsche gave Mussolini justification for his crusades against Christianity and The Catholic church, stating often that the Church was subordinate to the state.
- Lenin wanted to demolish organized religion, and in 1918 was the first to require a separation of Church and state, prohibiting religious instruction in public schools.
- Stalin intensified Lenin’s battles against the Church, giving increased funding the League of Militant Atheists, persecuting Christian, Buddhist, and Muslim clergy, and demolishing many religious buildings.
- Castro labeled Protestant sects in Cuba “counter-revolutionaries,” calling them “instruments of imperialism” and jailing any clergy he could say had US links.
Tying it into Today
The separation of Church and state in our nation, a nation formed by men & women seeking to escape religious persecution from a tyrant in England, is not truly meant to follow the Constitution. Our founding document was created by our forefathers who believed that the United States of America was a land touched by God, one that needed to stay true to His word in order to succeed as a nation. The separation in this nation, just as with each of the Marxist regimes listed throughout this series was brought about by people who had replaced God with politics and the state.
They knew that in order to follow in the footsteps of Marx, Lenin, Mussolini, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Stalin, and Castro, religion would have to be replaced with absolute faith in the party, and this was the first of many steps taken to bring us down that path.
For if it truly were about Constitutionality rather than politics, we wouldn’t be seeing so many instances in which other faiths are free to say, do, or influence government institutions so often, as each would have been met with the same fervor as the attacks on Christianity.
If you feel that your faith has been under attack in this nation, it’s not because you’re crazy, it’s because it truly is. These people are evil, these people believe in nothing beyond or above the state and these people will do terrible, unholy things if given the opportunity. And we have the chance to stop them, now.
God grant us the strength and wisdom to do so.
Conclusion
I know this series has been quite lengthy, and I appreciate you sticking around to the end.
Unfortunately, despite the length of this article, there are many, many instances of terrible things done by each of the murderous Marxist regimes covered throughout that I could not include, trying and be as respectful of your time as possible.
I felt a need to write this, not only because I see the same template followed by each of the regimes covered in this article being repeated all around us right now, but because I also see such a strong propaganda push to keep our people distracted, misinformed and otherwise ignorant of the true intentions of the people who are currently putting forth great time, energy and financial resources to bring the same type of control to this nation that we saw under each of the tyrants discussed here.
“Well what can I do about it?” you may ask.
I believe we are witnessing the greatest information and propaganda operation ever perpetrated on a population, but we have a weapon in our arsenal that renders each of their powerful tools inert: the truth.

We have historical evidence, as laid out in the series above, that gives absolute proof as to what happens when Marxists are given control of a nation, and that it leads to death and misery every single time.
We are a nation formed by armed rebellion, by people who were sick and tired of being mistreated by a tyrant across the ocean who gave them neither rights nor voice.
The truth is our weapon in this rebellion, and as Americans, it’s our job to wield that weapon with everything we have, to spread the truth far and wide, to help wake up our countrymen and women to the reality going on around them, and to counter each false narrative that we see being waged against our people in this war of propaganda.
So take these facts that I’ve given you, do more research if you have the time or ability, but use them to wake up every friend, family member, or a person you meet on the street to tell these despicable cowards trying to fool us into accepting the same fate as each of the populations listed above that we, as Americans, are not going to take this sitting down.
We are Americans, and we will never accept a fate dealt to us by Marxist tyrants in wait.
