#2 Ex-Capitol Police Chief Slams Pelosi, Says She Rejected National Guard Help Jan. 6 - Heather Hunter for Washington Examiner, Kyle Becker, Nick Sortor, Libs of TikTok, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, MAGA Voice, and RealRobert on X
Former United States Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund is accusing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) of rewriting history after she criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to activate the D.C. National Guard this week. Pelosi wrote on X Monday that Trump “delayed deploying the National Guard on January 6th when our Capitol was under violent attack and lives were at stake,” claiming his new Guard order was an attempt to distract from his “incompetent mishandling” of tariffs, healthcare, education, and immigration... Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois seemed to short-circuit during an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday after being asked whether it was hypocritical of him to mirror Texas' redistricting plan. Pritzker was thrust into the national spotlight recently after he offered to shield many of the 50 Texas Democrats who fled the state. They were attempting to block a new congressional map from Republicans that, if approved, could give the GOP an extra five seats in the House of Representatives. The saga got even crazier when Republican Sen. John Cornyn of Texas got the Federal Bureau of Investigation involved. He asked for their help last week in searching for the legislators so they could be brought back by force. Pritzker flat-out lied during the NBC interview when he claimed that Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is "violating the Constitution." President Trump on Monday signed an executive order implementing another 90-day pause on additional tariffs on China that were set to take effect on Tuesday. The move again pushes off a deadline for imposing the harshest taxes on Chinese imports as the two sides continue negotiations on a deal. Trump posted on social media that he had signed the order around 8 p.m. ET. Around the same time, China also announced the extension of the tariff pause via official news agency Xinhua... The editor-in-chief of a prominent medical journal has rejected Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s call to retract a study that found no links between childhood vaccination and 50 chronic health disorders. Reuters reported on Monday that the Annals of Internal Medicine will not retract the 2025 study, which analyzed data from 1.2 million Danish children and focused on vaccines that contain aluminum. A second federal judge has denied the Justice Department’s request to unseal court documents connected to the Jeffrey Epstein case, accusing the Trump administration of being “disingenuous” when asking for grand jury transcripts related to the criminal investigation of Ghislaine Maxwell. Judge Paul Engelmayer of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York wrote in his Monday ruling that the DOJ’s “entire premise — that the Maxwell grand jury materials would bring to light meaningful new information about Epstein’s and Maxwell’s crimes, or the Government’s investigation into them — is demonstrably false,” CNBC reported. Vice President JD Vance said Elon Musk made a “mistake” in picking a fight with President Trump — but said he hopes the Tesla honcho will find his way back into the White House. Vance shared his hopes of having the X owner back at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. by the 2026 midterm elections, and highlighted just how instrumental the billionaire was in Trump’s 2024 presidential bid. “I don’t know that he would take my call right now,” Vance told The Gateway Pundit of Musk, saying the tech tycoon has a “complicated relationship” with the White House... The man who attacked the CDC headquarters in Atlanta on Friday fired more than 180 shots into the campus and broke about 150 windows, with bullets piercing “blast-resistant” windows and spattering glass shards into numerous rooms, according to information circulated internally at the agency. It may take weeks or even months to replace windows and clean up the damage, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention personnel said. A Georgia man who had blamed the COVID-19 vaccine for making him depressed and suicidal opened fire late Friday, killing a police officer. No one at CDC was injured...
#3 Trump-Appointed Judge Deals Legal Blow to the White House - Sonam Sheth for Newsweek, Stacy Palmer, The Washington Times, Kyle Cheney/neeha, and Bloomberg Law on X
A federal judge appointed by President Donald Trump ruled against the administration on Monday, finding that it improperly withheld tens of millions of dollars in congressionally approved funding from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). NED's lawsuit raised questions about the role Congress plays in managing the country's budget and whether the executive branch has the authority to unilaterally pause funding that has already been approved by the legislature. The NED was also one of several organizations focused on promoting democracy and the rule of law that were targeted by the Trump administration and Elon Musk, then the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, after Trump took office in January. Others, like the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Institute for Peace, were also systematically dismantled or had their funding gutted over unfounded allegations of widespread corruption and waste, fraud, and abuse...
