#10 North Carolina Supreme Court Rules Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Name Must Be Removed From Ballots - ABC Eyewitness News, Tom George, Axios Charlotte, and North Carolina Politics on X

The North Carolina Supreme Court on Monday upheld a lower-court ruling that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s name must be taken off state ballots for the Nov. 5 presidential election. The intermediate-level Court of Appeals had issued an order last week granting Kennedy's request to halt the mailing of ballots that included his name. The State Board of Elections announced Friday that it would appeal that decision to the Supreme Court and asked the state's highest court to expedite its ruling. The court did just that Monday, saying it concluded that the NCBOE did not meet its "heavy burden" under the standard, and accordingly "we deny their petition for discretionary review."

#9 Millions of Pro-Life Conservative Voters are Not Registered to Vote, This Must Change - Andrew Bair for Life News, and Florida Renegade on X

It may hard to believe but there are a sizable number of pro-life Americans who are not registered to vote. Generally, voter registration numbers and participation in elections are up according to the United States Census Bureau. But a little over 30% of the citizen voting-age population is not registered to vote. These could be some of your neighbors, friends, or even immediate family members. The state with the lowest percentage (61%) of its voting-age citizens registered to vote was North Carolina, which also happens to be one of the major battleground states in the 2024 presidential race. Not much higher on the list was Florida (63%), where voters will also weigh in on a pro-abortion statewide ballot measure in 2024...

#8 Oregon Law Rolling back Drug Decriminalization Takes Effect, Making Possession a Crime Again - PBS News, New York Post, and ZeroHedge on X

Oregon’s first-in-the-nation experiment with drug decriminalization came to an end Sunday, and possessing small amounts of hard drugs is once again a crime. The Democratic-controlled Legislature passed the recriminalization law in March, overhauling a measure approved by 58 percent of voters in 2020 that made possessing illicit drugs like heroin punishable by a ticket and a maximum $100 fine. The measure directed hundreds of millions of dollars in cannabis tax revenue toward addiction services, but the money was slow to get out the door at a time when the fentanyl crisis was causing a spike in deadly overdoses and health officials — grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic — were struggling to stand up the new treatment system, state auditors found...

#7 Hatchet-Wielding, Hard-Partying Migrants Take over Texas Hotel — Turning It Into a Haven for Tren de Aragua Gang - Jennie Taer for The New York Post, Liquid News Feed, and American.357 on X

The violent Venezuelan migrant gang Tren de Aragua has taken over a hotel in the Texas border city of El Paso — turning into a hub of fighting, drinking and hard-partying behavior, authorities say. The cops have been called nearly 700 times to the Gateway Hotel. Surveillance footage shows one man wielding a hatchet, others were spotted with knives and at least one man was seen firing a gun inside, the El Paso County Attorney said. Much of this activity happened while children were present...

#6 House Republicans Clash With Cuomo Over Nursing Home Deaths - Gabrielle M. Etzel for Washington Examiner, The Gateway Pundit, Janice Dean, Real America's Voice, and Elise Stefanik on X

House Republicans came to verbal blows with former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo during his first public testimony before Congress on Tuesday regarding his state’s excessive nursing home deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cuomo agreed to testify before the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic regarding the order from the New York State Department of Health on March 25, 2020, that prohibited nursing homes from denying admittance to patients “solely based upon a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19.”

#5 DirecTV Complaint Seeks to Blow Apart Rigged Cable Bundling Forever - John Nolte for Breitbart, Be, The TV Answer Man, and The New York Post on X

DirecTV filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Sunday against the Disney Grooming Syndicate, and if DirecTV prevails, Hollywood’s worst nightmare will become a stark reality. “In the 10-page complaint,” reports far-left CNN, “DirecTV claimed the negotiations [with the Disney Grooming Syndicate] stalled because, ‘[the] Disney [Grooming Syndicate] insists on bundling and penetration requirements that a federal district court judge in New York recently found … unlawful, anti-competitive, and ‘bad for consumers.’”

#4 The 20 US Cities Where the Middle Class Is Shrinking Fastest - Alix Martichoux for The Hill and WFLA News on X

Americans in every state, city, and corner of the country are feeling the squeeze amid years (upon years) of rising prices. As the cost of living grows and wages for many workers stagnate, a middle-class lifestyle can feel more elusive. A Pew Research study found about 51% of Americans live in middle-class households in 2023, down from 61% in 1971. “As a result, Americans are more apart than before financially. From 1971 to 2023, the share of Americans who live in lower-income households increased from 27% to 30%, and the share in upper-income households increased from 11% to 19%,” Pew wrote...

#3 Most Recent Toxic Benzene Incident Linked to Distributor Partnered with FDA - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, and WebMD on X
The cancer-causing chemical benzene is in the news again. Benzene is colorless or light yellow at room temperature and is highly flammable. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) notes that it evaporates into the air very quickly, is heavier than air, and dissolves only slightly in water, instead of floating on top. Natural sources of benzene include volcanoes and forest fires. It is also a natural part of crude oil, gasoline, and cigarette smoke. However, big industry has taken over and catapulted benzene to rank as one of the top 20 chemicals widely used in the United States. Highly toxic and a known carcinogen, benzene increases the risk of leukemia, blood disorders, and several forms of cancer. And, as proven to be the case with most profitable poisons, benzene has found its way into products regularly used by men, women, and children, including hand sanitizers, acne creams, deodorants, dry shampoos, sunscreens, and generic over-the-counter cold medicines...

#2 Dollar Stores Getting Crushed Sends Ominous Signal About US Economy: Consumers Are ‘Tapped Out,’ Expert Warns - Taylor Penley for Fox Business, Kris Kay on X
Struggling dollar stores is a sign of bad news for the U.S. economy, RFD-TV's Scott Shellady said Tuesday. "It's one of those things you just can't ignore as much as a lot of people would like to," Shellady told FOX Business' Stuart Varney as he floated the possibility of an upcoming recession. "When you think about it, their target market is $30,000 to $45,000 earnings per year. Those people have basically stopped going or at least not spending what they used to spend. Even the CFO of Darden Restaurants, which is the Olive Garden, they've said that they've seen a decent amount of revenues, but it's from people that make over $200,000; their target market [is] between $70,000 and $80,000 a year. As far as what their customers are, they've dropped off the face of the Earth."

#1 Key Takeaways From a Debate That Featured Tense Clashes and Closed With a Taylor Swift Endorsement - AP News, Mark R. Levin, John Orlando, Over/Underdog, Insurrection Barbie, Pop Crave, and Infowarx on X

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris faced each other on the debate stage for the first — and possibly the last — time. The Democratic vice president opened Tuesday night’s faceoff with a power move, marching across the stage to Trump’s lectern to shake his hand. “Kamala Harris,” she said, introducing herself as the pair met for the first time ever. “Let’s have a good debate.” “Nice to see you. Have fun,” the former Republican president responded. The exchange set the tone for the 90-minute debate to come: Harris controlled the conversation at times, baiting Trump with jabs at his economic policy, his refusal to concede his 2020 election loss and even his performance at his rallies. Trump, while measured early on, grew more annoyed as the night went on. And one significant moment played out after the two candidates left the stage, when megastar Taylor Swift said she’ll vote for Harris.
