While Hunter Biden vacationed with his family in Santa Ynez Valley in California on Wednesday, nearly 100 miles away in Los Angeles his lawyers empathetically defended him in his final pretrial conference before his federal tax case heads to trial. Mark Geragos, an attorney who joined Biden’s legal team recently, was pushing back on the prosecution’s plan to bring up embarrassing details of Biden’s past, like spending money on drugs, girlfriends and lovers, expensive hotels and more rather than pay his taxes. “They want the character assassination, they want to slime him, that is the whole purpose,” Geragos told District Court Judge Mark Scarsi...

The report conclusively states that Biden "monetize[d] his office of public trust to enrich his family," making his actions impeachable offenses. As the football season fast approaches, all 32 NFL stadiums will use the surveillance platform after the NFL signed a contract with a company that uses facial scans to confirm the identity of individuals entering event venues and other secure spaces, including credentialed media areas, press boxes, and locker rooms...#3 The Reality of Kamala Harris’ Plan to Tax Unrealized Capital Gains - Dan Primack for Axios, Jason DeBolt, Vivek G Ramaswamy, Byron Donalds on X
Silicon Valley was burning up the socials this week, after learning that Kamala Harris has tacitly endorsed a tax on unrealized capital gains. Lots of what was shared was inaccurate. Reality check: This only would impact a small subset of America's wealthiest people, and most tech founders and investors would be spared. What to know: Harris didn't release a new tax plan. Instead, her campaign said it agrees with a series of items in President Biden's last budget proposal, the most relevant of which were nonstarters in Congress and didn't become law. This includes the new tax on unrealized capital gains. It applies only to individuals with at least $100 million in wealth who do not pay at least a 25% tax rate on their income (inclusive of unrealized capital gains). Payments can be spread out over subsequent years...
