Two Catholic bishops have expressed regret about agreeing to a White House meeting that produced a publicly distributed photo of them praying with President Donald Trump. Milwaukee Archbishop Jeffrey Grob, in a statement titled "A Public Apology," said Sunday that he had received many questions and comments — some of them distraught — about the meeting on Thursday which he and 11 other bishops attended. He said the meeting was speedily publicized by the White House with photos and a video, without consent of the participants, and less than two weeks away from the midterm elections...
#2 Appeals Court Rules Against DOJ in California Ballot Fight - Zach Schonfeld for The Hill, M.A. Rothman/Eric Daugherty, Letros Antonis, Jamie Gangel, ABC10, and Errol M. Gabay on X
A federal appeals court panel Monday refused to order California to set aside 20,000 mail ballots that the Trump administration says are likely from noncitizens. In a 2-1 vote, the panel found it has no jurisdiction and the administration needs to wait for the trial judge to rule. He’s set to hold a hearing Tuesday, but the Justice Department has demanded faster action since ballots are being returned each day. “The United States’s claimed emergency, at least in part, is a self-constructed one,” the court wrote in its unsigned ruling...
#3 Ceasefire Brokered by Melania Trump Goes Into Effect in Russian-Occupied Town ‘On the Brink of Disaster’ - Yuliya Talmazan for NBC News, Sollencia, ABC 17 News, Emanuel Quiñones, WSFA 12 News, and Conservative Librarian on X
A rare humanitarian ceasefire brokered by first lady Melania Trump to save people trapped in a Russian-occupied Ukrainian town went into effect early Tuesday. After months of warnings from Ukrainian officials about an unraveling humanitarian catastrophe in the front-line town of Oleshky, in the southern Kherson region, the White House announced last week that the first lady had secured a pause in the fighting. The agreement would “temporarily stop all military action in Oleshky to allow for humanitarian aid to enter and to prepare a civilian evacuation through a designated safe passageway,” it said...
#4 Inside the Somali Mall Where Ilhan Omar Found Refuge in First Public Appearance After DC Raid - Peter D'Abrosca for Fox News, Erik Hoffmann, Brad Aisa, Amat Farah Muhamed, Steve Rund, and Hassan Garaad on X
It's the largest Somali mall in the world, according to its owner. It's also where Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., spent a significant chunk of her Friday — marking her first day back in the public eye after the Oct. 12 raid on her Washington, D.C., home. Fox News Digital got a look inside the Karmel Mall of Somalia, which isn't like typical American malls that sport brand-name shops situated around a vast food court and end-capped by large department stores. It was in the mall's dining area, adorned with the Somali, Palestinian, and American flags flying at the same height, that Omar dined among friends in the Somali community for lunch on Friday. State Attorney General Keith Ellison was also present. The ceiling of the food vendor area is painted light blue and emblazoned with a white star resembling the Somali flag...

Two men were charged under the National Security Act on Tuesday over an incident last month at the RAF Fairford airbase, with prosecutors accusing a British national of trying to help Iranian intelligence in Britain. RAF Fairford had been used by U.S. bombers to carry out strikes on Iran, but they were withdrawn on security grounds shortly after five British men were arrested outside the base in southwest England in the early hours of September 27. British national Mohmed Abdulkarim, 24, was charged with engaging in conduct that was likely to materially assist a foreign intelligence service between August 31 and September 28, with police saying the country is believed to be Iran.

The Justice Department criminally charged James Comey over a decade-old allegation that he ordered his staff to leak classified information to a reporter, the third time that prosecutors have levied criminal allegations against the former FBI director. Comey is charged over allegedly leaking a sensitive national security document when he was FBI director in October 2016, according to court records made public Monday, allegations that his attorneys said were investigated previously without resulting in charges...
#7 Trump Offers $1M Reward for Voter Fraud Tips That Result in Conviction -Michelle Stoddart, Eric Daugherty/Donald J. Trump, Aaron Rupar/Sam Liccardo, Breanna Morello, Montgomery Granger, and NFN - News Facts Network on X
President Donald Trump said on Monday that he is offering a $1 million reward for anyone who reports voter fraud -- in past elections or in the upcoming midterm elections -- that leads to a conviction. "Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud," Trump wrote in a social media post. Trump has repeatedly made unfounded claims that there was widespread voter fraud in past elections. It is not clear where the money for this reward that the president is offering would come from. The White House would not provide any additional details about Trump's announcement...
#8 The UN’s “Non-Binding” Pandemic Declaration: Sequence In, Shot Out - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, UncoverDC, Health Watch USA, The Current Feed, FAO Livestock, James and Alice Young/Kate Shemirani on X
On October 12, with little to no media coverage, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Political Declaration on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response. The vote was 153 in favor and 3 against. The United States, Israel, and Argentina voted no, and New Zealand and Paraguay abstained. The scant headlines moved on within a day, mainly because the document is non-binding, which, to many, means that it is no big deal. But is that really the case? To have a clear understanding of the ongoing and persistent dystopian agenda playing out before us, it is crucial to also understand what the declaration is quietly pushing toward, and what its larger system of treaty, technology, and crisis triggers is designed to do once the goals are met...

Brazilian markets plunged nearly 17% Monday, and the dollar surged against the real after leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's stunning re-election victory rattled investors already wary of soaring public debt and his promises of increased government spending. Brazil's currency plunged nearly 8%, its steepest one-day decline since 1999, according to LSEG data, while the benchmark Bovespa stock index sank 14% in its worst session since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The sell-off was so severe that Brazil's stock exchange temporarily halted trading...

Two former senior FBI officials are due back in federal court Tuesday as they challenge criminal charges that they lied to Congress about their knowledge of investigations involving Hunter Biden. Nikki Cole Floris and Bradley Benavides each face one count of making a false statement in a matter within the jurisdiction of Congress. Prosecutors say their 2023 testimony about the FBI’s investigations into Biden and its Foreign Influence Task Force was contradicted by records, communications, and witness accounts. Both deny wrongdoing, and their lawyers have called the case politically motivated...
