#10 CNN Political Commentator, GOP Adviser Alice Stewart Dead at 58 - Katherine Donlevy for The New York Post, and Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH, and Wayne Allyn Root on X
Alice Stewart, a CNN political commentator who worked on several GOP presidential campaigns, died Saturday at age 58. The frequent “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” guest was found dead outdoors in the Bellevue neighborhood in northern Virginia, law enforcement officials told the news organization. They believe she suffered a medical emergency, and no foul play is suspected. “Alice was a very dear friend and colleague to all of us at CNN,” Mark Thompson, the network’s CEO, said in an email to staff Saturday. “A political veteran and an Emmy Award-winning journalist who brought an incomparable spark to CNN’s coverage, known across our bureaus not only for her political savvy but for her unwavering kindness. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn such an extraordinary loss.” What illnesses the political commentator may have been battling is unknown, but her death appeared to be sudden. Stewart had appeared on Blitzer’s show just one day before she died... The global, government-coerced transition into "green energy" has geologists scouring the Earth for new sources of lithium -- the element that's required for batteries, like those used in electric vehicles. Now, in a cosmic practical joke on environmentalists, researchers say they've found a lithium mother lode -- in Pennsylvania fracking wastewater. It turns out that the Marcellus Shale -- a long swath of sedimentary rock in the northeastern United States that holds huge amounts of frackable gas -- holds huge quantities of lithium, too. Justin Mackey and other researchers at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pennsylvania were pleasantly surprised when they studied the contents of wastewater dredged up in the fracking process at 515 sites in the Keystone State, reports Science Alert... Michael Cohen was bombarded with prank calls in October 2016, the same month he was urgently arranging a deal to buy Stormy Daniels’ silence. On October 24, 2016, the prank caller forgot to hide their number, and Cohen sent them a message: “This number has just been sent to Secret Service for your ongoing and continuous harassment to both my cell as well as the organization’s main line.” “I DIDN'T DO IT,” the prankster replied. “I'm 14,” another text read. “Please don’t do this.” That night, Donald Trump’s fixer called his boss’s bodyguard and then texted him the alleged 14-year-old prankster’s phone number to deal with it... Jerry Seinfeld‘s Saturday night comedy show in Norfolk, Virginia, was interrupted several times by at least one pro-Palestinian protester. The incident was the second protest at a Seinfeld event this month. Earlier, protesters walked out of a commencement speech Seinfeld gave at the graduation ceremony for Duke University. Both protests were rooted in Seinfeld’s staunch pro-Israel support. In a video captured by a WTKR employee attending one of two Saturday shows by Seinfeld, a man who was standing up and yelling toward the stage was escorted out of the venue... In a resounding victory for the First Amendment, a federal district court ruled in favor of Reverend Patrick Mahoney, safeguarding his—and all Americans’—free speech rights on the U.S. Capitol Grounds. The court’s opinion means that Rev. Mahoney is now free to pray and peacefully demonstrate in this area that the Capitol Police once arbitrarily deemed off-limits to Rev. Mahoney. Following January 6, 2021—for the first time in history—the Capitol Grounds were closed to demonstration activity, even by a single person. Fences went up, and the First Amendment meant little. It was a dark time for free expression in America. The People’s House was closed to the people. When the Capitol Police finally removed the fencing that had surrounded the U.S. Capitol Ground for months, the Grounds were once again open for First Amendment expression. Or so Rev. Mahoney thought... President Joe Biden acknowledged anti-Israel student protests while speaking at the Morehouse College commencement — but he also faced some protests of his own during the speech. The war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas has been a hot-button issue on various college campuses, with protests reaching a fever pitch at the end of last month. Biden has denounced the violent protests seen at Columbia University and the University of California, Los Angeles, but did take time to say he hears protesters while speaking at the Morehouse College graduation ceremony on Sunday... Michigan Democrats shot down an effort to significantly expand the vetting process for China-tied companies seeking to cash in on state incentives earlier in May. Republican lawmakers in both chambers of the state’s legislature pushed budget amendments that would have prohibited the use of state funds to subsidize corporations originating from adversarial countries like China, but neither amendment made it into the budgets that passed on May 9 and May 15. House and Senate Democrats leveraged their control of each chamber to shoot down both amendments... The U.S. health regulator has allowed billionaire Elon Musk's Neuralink to implant its brain chip in a second person after it proposed to fix a problem that occurred in its first patient, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday. Earlier this month, Neuralink said tiny wires implanted in the brain of its first patient had pulled out of position. Reuters reported last week, citing sources, the company knew from animal testing that the wires might retract. The company intends to fix the problem by embedding some of the device's wires deeper into the brain, the WSJ report said citing a person familiar with the company and a document it had viewed... The 'real-life Martha' from Baby Reindeer bombarded Sir Keir Starmer with almost 300 emails, it has been reported. Fiona Harvey allegedly sent the Labour leader a barrage of abusive messages in the space of eight months in which she used a disabled slur to attack his wife and gloated over two of his dead relatives. Harvey, 58, is accused of sending 276 vile emails to his parliament address between January and August 2020. She reportedly calls him a 'stupid little boy', that he was a 'useless barrister', and launches an attack on his wife Lady Victoria Starmer who she says looks 'dreadful', reported The Sun. She signed all of the emails off with 'Sent from my iPhone' - just as those sent by Martha Scott in the hit Netflix series - despite her sending them from a desktop computer...

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has directed the purge of "non-citizens" from the state's voter rolls following a review that identified over 100 non-citizens registered to vote. These individuals will now be required to provide proof of citizenship or face removal from the voter rolls by the county board of elections...
