#1 Supreme Court Hears Oral Argument In Bayer Case Seeking To Block Pesticide Lawsuits - Food & Water Watch, Patriot Takes, Holden Culotta, Lauren Lee, The Last Farm/David Corn, and Anna Paulina Luna on X

Today, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in pesticide manufacturer Bayer’s case, Monsanto Company v. Durnell. Food & Water Watch and allies submitted an amicus brief in favor of Durnell earlier this month. With the Trump administration’s repeated support, Bayer is seeking a ruling that would shield the corporation from lawsuits brought by cancer patients who allege its Roundup product was to blame for their disease. Such a ruling would effectively leave these patients without legal recourse. Meanwhile, Senator Cory Booker’s pending Pesticide Injury Accountability Act would enshrine the right to sue over pesticide harms. In response, Food & Water Watch Legal Director Tarah Heinzen issued the following statement...

#2 Toxic by Design: America’s Agricultural Crisis and the Promising Homeopathic Solution - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, UncoverDC, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, Marjorie Taylor Greene/Children's Health Defense, John Larson, and Lee Zeldin/The Thorn in your side on X

We are a nation soaked in poison. It is in our food, our water, our soil, our air, and, increasingly, in every part of our bodies. Toxic glyphosate—the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup—has been detected in breakfast cereals, oat-based baby foods, and even human breast milk. The chemical industry has spent decades telling us that this is the price of feeding the world. Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides—pick your “-cide”—are simply the cost of doing business in modern agriculture. But what if that’s a lie? What if there’s a cleaner, cheaper, non-toxic path forward—one that doesn’t happen to make billions for the same corporations currently poisoning our food chain? That question is precisely what a growing group of researchers, farmers, and advocates is answering. And the organization helping bring those answers to the American people is Americans for Homeopathy Choice (AFHC). Founded by natural health advocate Paola Brown, AFHC’s newly launched agriculture initiative is shining a long-overdue spotlight on a field most people have never encountered: agrohomeopathy.

#3 Virginia’s Top Court Pounds Dems Over Redistricting Move Called ‘Blatant Power Grab' - Ryan King for New York Post, William Junior, Election Transparancy Initiative, L. Louise Lucas/Julie Perry for Congress (VA-10), Marc E. Elias/Dani V/Allen Helton, and 7NewsDC on X

Democrats faced tough questioning before the Virginia Supreme Court on Monday during oral arguments on a redistricting referendum that narrowly passed last week, though most of the justices were oddly quiet. Republicans have challenged the referendum, which paved the way for the Dems to pick up as many as four local congressional seats — potentially leaving them with a 10-to-one margin over GOPers — arguing that the Democrat-led General Assembly flouted procedural rules to get it on the ballot. A constitutional amendment was needed to put it to voters, and state lawmakers have to approve a resolution in two consecutive legislative sessions, with an election in between, to do so...

#4 Ron DeSantis Releases New Congressional Map Creating Four More GOP-Leaning Seats in Florida - Matt Dixon for NBC News, Marc E. Elias, Christian Heienes, Ron DeSantis,  Paul Renner/Sarah Longwell, and E X X ➠A L E R T S/Polymarket on X
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday released a proposed redraw of the state’s congressional lines that, on paper, would create four new GOP-leaning seats — an aggressive proposal that the governor is using to try to challenge anti-gerrymandering language in the state Constitution. The Florida Legislature is set to begin a special session Tuesday to consider the maps, which are overwhelmingly expected to pass out of the GOP-dominated body, though even some Republicans have expressed annoyance about how DeSantis has handled the process...

In his first court appearance today, the man accused of opening fire outside the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner was charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump. California teacher and engineer Cole Tomas Allen, 31, believed it was his duty to target Trump administration officials, according to a note he sent family members minutes before the attack, provided to NBC News by a senior administration official...

#6 Congressional Republicans Rally Around Trump’s White House Ballroom Project - Justin Papp for CNBC, Ed Krassenstein/Very Very Tony,  ThePatrioticBlonde™, Law360, mRecouvrer, and Aaron Rupar on X

A trio of Senate Republicans on Monday announced they will introduce legislation authorizing $400 million in federal funding to build President Donald Trump’s White House ballroom in the wake of a shooting incident that disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner over the weekend. Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Katie Britt, R-Ala., and Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., said they were introducing the bill to fund a project that is vital to national security. “Many people I think originally saw it as a vanity project… I don’t see it that way,” Graham said at a press conference on Monday. “I’m convinced if there had been a presidential ballroom adjacent to the White House, the guy would have never gotten in.”

#7 Kimmel Pushes Back on Trump Calls for His Firing, in First Major Test for Disney’s New CEO - Brian Stelter for CNN, The White House, Breaking 911, Benny Johnson, Nick Sortor, and RedWave Press on X

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel found himself defending Americans’ right to free speech on Monday, after a joke he made several days ago prompted calls from the White House for ABC to fire him – again. “You know, sometimes you wake up in the morning, and the first lady puts out a statement demanding you be fired from your job? We’ve all been there, right?” Kimmel asked at the beginning of his monologue on Monday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” “What a day.”

#8 4 House Republicans Vote With Dems to Block Resolution Censuring Ilhan Omar for Charlie Kirk Comments - Elizabeth Elkind for FOX News, Sunshine Diamond Eyes, Salty Cracker/James, J∅kër Kîng/Gunther Eagleman™, Kentucky Girl, and Kate/Engleman on X

Four House Republicans voted with Democrats to table the legislation, effectively blocking it from receiving its own House-wide vote. A vote to table is a procedural mechanism allowing House members to vote against consideration of a bill without having to vote on the bill itself. The measure was blocked in a narrow 214 to 213 vote. The four Republicans who voted to table the measure are Reps. Mike Flood, R-Neb., Tom McClintock, R-Calif., Jeff Hurd, R-Colo., and Cory Mills, R-Fla...

#9 UAE to Quit OPEC in Blow to World’s Leading Oil Exporters, as Iran War Roils Energy Sector - David Goldman for CNN, Amoledo, M Kucala MS,MBA, Asif Patel, alex/Bachar EL-Halabi, and Sani Magaji Garko on X
The United Arab Emirates will withdraw from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) this week, as the Iran war roils global energy markets. The price of oil climbed above $110 a barrel for the first time in three weeks today. The United Arab Emirates's decision to ditch the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries is a significant blow to the Middle East’s ability to keep oil prices artificially high. But it could also be disruptive to US oil producers and complicate the region’s ability to respond to future emergencies...

The visit follows President Donald Trump's trip to the United Kingdom in September for an unprecedented second state visit, where he received a royal welcome like no other. Trump and first lady Melania Trump greeted Charles and Camilla at the White House. They then attended a garden party this afternoon at the British ambassador's residence, an event first held for King George VI in 1939...
