Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he’s removing Flock cameras from state roadways. The announcement comes amid a growing concern over the misuse of automated license plate readers. On Monday, DeSantis ordered all Flock cameras removed from what he calls the “state highway system” within the next 30 days, which would include interstates like I-10 and I-75. That order led to several sheriff’s departments, like in Franklin, Liberty, and Putnam Counties, to announce they’re ending their own license plate reader programs...

Top US health officials and government agencies are currently not including the two recent measles-associated deaths in Pennsylvania in their counts. “This is highly unusual,” said Debra Houry, former chief medical officer of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She noted that this did not happen with the three deaths reported from measles in Texas and New Mexico last year. Dr. Anthony Fauci said an aide should delete an email about risky research his agency was funding, according to documents released on Saturday by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.  “Please delete this e-mail and then delete from the deleted file,” Fauci told Dr. Clifford Lane, a senior official at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in a missive on March 4, 2012.  Fauci, NIAID’s director at the time, was commenting on an op-ed that criticized risky research that created a more transmissible H5N1 influenza virus. The research, led by European scientist Ron Fouchier, was funded by the NIAID.  The op-ed said the virus appeared to spread easily and would be lethal to humans if it escaped confinement or was stolen by terrorists. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who has been a key figure in a push to release files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the last few years, read off over a dozen names of what he said were “Epstein coconspirators” on Monday. “On the House floor tonight, I read the names of several Epstein coconspirators who should be investigated and prosecuted,” Massie said in a Monday night post on the social platform X.  “I also began collecting 218 signatures for the discharge petition to force a vote on Epstein Files Transparency Act II,” he added. Massie’s post included a clip of himself on the House floor, in which he said it had “been a year since the president signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act,” referencing legislation he spearheaded alongside Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) last year that resulted in the release of some files linked to Epstein.

Authorities said the hacking targets varied from NASA to the Federal Reserve. The U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI last week announced the court-authorized domain seizures targeting QScan and QTRouter, two cyber platforms that investigators said have ties to a Chinese group known as QTFY. Officials announcing the seizures included U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon for the Southern District of California, as well as Special Agent in Charge Mark Remily of the FBI San Diego Field Office.
