Tim Burchett Press Office, and Congresswoman Susie Lee/Kentucky is Beautiful on X

The House on Wednesday passed the Save America Act, which would dramatically change voting regulations by requiring proof of citizenship at voter registration and significantly curtail mail-in voting. The legislation, which passed 218 to 213, faces an uphill battle in the Senate, close observers say. “I’m skeptical that the Senate will vote on this bill, because this bill goes farther than the bill they’ve already sent to the Senate, [which] it hasn’t taken up,” said Shenna Bellows, Maine’s secretary of state and a Democratic candidate for governor...

#2 Rogan Defends Democratic Senator Who Faced Backlash From Party for Supporting Voter ID -  Alexander Hall for Fox News, Tim Davis, Owen Gregorian, Jason Cohen, Ty’s Tough Talk/𝒢𝑒𝓁, and John Collins on X

Podcaster Joe Rogan spoke to actress Cheryl Hines Tuesday about the risks of going against the grain, citing Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., as a prime example. "Once you get in, for the most part, you have to adhere to the mindset of all the other people that are in your business. And if you don't, you get cast — like John Fetterman — like you get cast out. They hate that guy now. They're mad at him because he says, ‘I think you should probably have ID to vote," Rogan said.  Hines, who had spoken earlier about the backlash her husband, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennery Jr., received, agreed, "I know. I like John Fetterman."

#3 Bondi Clashes With Democrats as She Struggles to Turn the Page on Epstein Files Furor - AP News, The Bulwark, World Of Hurt/GABRIEL, BWS, Nick Sortor/Linda, and Stanley E Cook on X

Attorney General Pam Bondi launched into a passionate defense of Donald Trump on Wednesday as she tried to turn the page from relentless criticism of the Justice Department’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, repeatedly shouting at Democrats during a combative hearing in which she postured herself as the Republican president’s chief protector. Besieged by questions over Epstein and accusations of a weaponized Justice Department, Bondi aggressively pivoted in an extraordinary speech in which she mocked her Democratic questioners, praised Trump over the performance of the stock market and openly aligned herself as in sync with a president whom she painted as a victim of past impeachments and investigations.

#4 CANNIBALISM? Rep. Lauren Boebert Says Unredacted Epstein Files “Far Worse Than Imagined,” Raises Questions About Alleged Code Words and ‘Human Consumption’ - Jim Hᴏft for The Gateway Pundit, Concerned Citizen, Bonchie, Red Panda Koala, Rep. Melanie Stansbury/Keith369Me, and Gunther Eagleman/Bootlegger on X

In an interview on Newsmax, Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert warned that the long-concealed unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files are much darker than the public has ever been led to believe, suggesting they contain disturbing code words, references to “consumption,” and clues that might point to elite cannibalism and human meat trafficking. Boebert, who joined a select group of lawmakers given access to pages of the newly opened files after the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, told host Rob Schmitt that what she saw went far beyond the established narrative of sex trafficking and abuse...

#5 Nancy Mace Has ‘List of Names’ To Subpoena After Viewing Epstein Files -Hugh Cameron for Newsweek, The Tennessee Holler, Parler, Nancy Mace/Bill, Parallel Polis in Exile/Shadow of Ezra, and Overton on X

Republican Representative Nancy Mace has said she plans to seek testimony from several individuals named in newly reviewed Justice Department files concerning the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. On Monday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) began permitting members of Congress to examine unredacted versions of the roughly 3 million Epstein-related records it has made public since late last year. Several lawmakers have already seen some of the materials—under strict supervision at a satellite office in Washington, D.C.—and subsequently reported new details about Epstein and his associates, as well as multiple instances of unnecessary redactions by the department that potentially violate the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which President Donald Trump signed into law in November.

#6 Sam Bankman-Fried Asks for New Trial on FTX Fraud Charges - Jesse Hamilton and Stephen Alpher for CoinDesk, Xavier, Timothy  | Panic Drop, Cointelegraph भारत, @Odelora, and stockmarkit on X
Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of collapsed crypto exchange FTX, is seeking a new trial, according to a request filed in a New York federal court by his mother. Since being convicted and imprisoned on a 25-year sentence, SBF has been continually challenging his situation in court. The latest motion for a new trial, first reported on Tuesday by Inner City Press, was filed by his mother, Barbara Fried, claiming new evidence in the case would justify a reset. The filing noted the initial absence of testimony from figures, including FTX's Ryan Salame, who fought his own, separate legal battle...

#7 Settle First, Ask No Questions: The Syngenta Model - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, UncoverDC, Frankiesfight, AboutLawsuits.com, NikkiStorm, EnviroEdgeNews, and A.J. Leonardo on x

It happened again. Another courtroom, another jury left waiting, and another global agrochemical giant quietly permitted to pay to make the truth disappear. In this case, just as the first major US jury trial over paraquat—a highly toxic herbicide long suspected of causing Parkinson’s disease—was set to begin, Syngenta reached a confidential settlement with the plaintiff. To be clear, the timing was no accident. It never is. Paraquat, which has been used in the US since 1964, remains a popular choice for weed control with farmers growing soybeans, corn, and cotton, as well as growing pistachios, grapes, peanuts, and many other crops. It is known to be extremely dangerous to anyone who ingests even a small amount, which has led regulators to issue warnings and place restrictions on its use because of poisoning. But whether or not it causes Parkinson’s disease has remained a matter of fierce debate. As expected, Syngenta insists there is no credible evidence of a connection between the two.

#8 Gallup Will No Longer Track Presidential Approval Ratings After Nearly 90 Years - Natalie Neysa Alund for USA TODAY, Bob Hafer, Tom, YellaJacket/Melat Kiros for Congress, CO-1, Nikunj Garg and Frank on X

Gallup will soon no longer measure presidential approval, the analytics firm confirmed on Feb. 11. Founded by George Gallup in 1935, the Washington, DC-based management company began tracking the president's job performance 88 years ago. Starting in 2026, the firm told USA TODAY, Gallup will no longer publish "favorability ratings of political figures," a decision it said "reflects an evolution in how Gallup focuses its public research and thought leadership." A statistician and founder of the American Institute of Public Opinion, Gallup first sent pollsters across the United States during the Depression era to ask people whether they approved or disapproved of how the nation's commander-in-chief was handling his job.

#9 Six House Republicans Defy Trump to Block His Canada Tariffs - Sarah Ferris and Veronica Stracqualursi for CNN, PatrickdeSousaLahey, Carl Higbie/Born Free, Cathy C, The Washington Times, and Fearless45 on X

In a vote that GOP leaders fought hard to avoid, a half dozen Republicans sent a blunt message to President Donald Trump that they do not support the tariff regime that he has made the centerpiece of his second term. Six Republicans joined with Democrats in the vote to effectively repeal the president’s tariffs on Canada, the culmination of months of consternation in the GOP over the president’s trade war that has quietly rattled even some of his staunchest loyalists in Congress. The vote provoked a threat from Trump, who took to Truth Social to warn of consequences for any Republican who votes against his tariffs, including primary challenges...

#10 Super PAC Backed by AI Titans Pledges $5 Million to Boost Byron Donalds’ Run for Florida Governor - Matt Dixon for NBC News, Gigi Bowman, DeSantis Appreciation Society/Gary Fineout, and DK/Kittywitty on X
A pro-artificial intelligence super PAC is preparing to spend about $5 million to help GOP Rep. Byron Donalds' campaign for governor of Florida — as Republicans in the state participate in a protracted fight over AI legislation backed by Gov. Ron DeSantis but opposed by the industry. Donalds is the first candidate for governor in the country to win support from Leading the Future, a pro-AI super PAC that has received significant funding from industry heavyweights, including OpenAI President and co-founder Greg Brockman and the founders of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. The group has largely focused on federal races to date...
