An escalator malfunction and frozen teleprompter disrupted President Trump’s marquee address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, prompting him to improvise. The escalator carrying Trump en route to deliver his remarks had abruptly stalled shortly after the president set foot on it, forcing him to walk up it. Then, after making his way to the podium, Trump revealed his teleprompter wasn’t working. “I don’t mind making this speech without a teleprompter, because the teleprompter is not working,” Trump began, looking a little irked, drawing laughter. “I feel very happy to be up here with you, nevertheless — and that way you speak more from the heart — I can only say that whoever is operating this teleprompter is in big trouble,” he added to more laughs...

#3 Trump Criticizes European Allies in UN Speech: “Your Countries Are Going to Hell” - CBS NEWS, Chris Martz, The White House, John-Paul Berg, Nick Sortor, John Strand, and Cryptid Politics on X

President Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, the 80th anniversary of the world body. The president criticized European allies over green energy, immigration, and other issues. Mr. Trump also blasted the U.N. as a whole, asking, "What is the purpose of the United Nations?" Mr. Trump said in a social media post after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he believes Ukraine can win back all its territory from Russia "in its original form," with support from Europe. After several key Western allies of the United States announced before the U.N. General Assembly meeting that they would recognize a Palestinian state, Mr. Trump said that would embolden Hamas. "The rewards would be too great," Mr. Trump said, adding, "Instead of giving in to Hamas' ransom demands, those who want peace should be united with one message: Release the hostages now."

#5 Kimmel Returns — but Not on Sinclair or Nexstar Affiliates - Judd Legum for Axios, Sinclair, Inc., @Chicago1Ray, Grummz, Benny Johnson, Grace Chong, MBI, and  Reddit Lies on X

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show returned last night, less than a week after ABC indefinitely suspended production in response to Kimmel’s comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The decision to take Kimmel off the air has sparked a backlash against ABC from consumers and the entertainment industry. Disney, ABC’s parent company, said it was bringing the show back after “thoughtful conversations“ with the host. Kimmel did not criticize Kirk during the monologue that prompted his suspension, but accused President Trump and his allies of exploiting Kirk’s assassination for political purposes. But Kimmel’s show was not broadcast on 66 ABC affiliates owned by Nexstar and Sinclair. Nexstar said it would keep Kimmel off the air “pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve.”
