Let’s begin with the obvious: None of us came to Earth to parent a crystalline being through their first rotation around the sun just to let a Smart TV literally microwave their pineal gland. And yet—here we are. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, smart bulbs, smart cribs, smart everything—they whisper at us through the walls, like a passive-aggressive ghost of modernity, implying, “It’s fine. Everyone’s doing it.” But remember this about “they” and “everyone”: They told everyone that formula was better than breast milk...#4 Suspect in Fatal Stabbing of Ukrainian Refugee Charged With Federal Crime - Mike Wendling for BBC News, C3, @ChicagoRay1, Wall Street Apes, and Possum Reviews on X
The man suspected of carrying out a deadly knife attack on a Ukrainian refugee in Charlotte, North Carolina, has been charged with a federal crime that makes him eligible for the death penalty. Decarlos Brown Jr, 34, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder over the unprovoked attack on 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska on a train last month. Her killing prompted a widespread debate over crime in American cities. On Tuesday, the Justice Department said Brown had also been charged with causing death on a mass transportation system. Attorney General Pamela Bondi said the department would seek the maximum penalty and he would "never again see the light of day as a free man"...

The U.S. economy added 911,000 fewer jobs over the 12 months ending in March than the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) initially reported, according to data released by the besieged agency Tuesday. In a widely anticipated reevaluation of employment data, BLS said it likely over-reported the total number of jobs added by the U.S. since March 2024 by nearly 1 million, a 0.6 percent reduction and estimated to be the largest revision in history. BLS issues monthly jobs reports based on two surveys — one of households, and another of businesses — which the agency uses to calculate job gains and overall employment levels. BLS revises those individual reports in subsequent months as more survey responses come in, and additional data is available...

President Donald Trump’s rare outing to a local restaurant Tuesday night got off to a rocky start when he came face-to-face with protesters. Trump, accompanied by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and other administration officials, arrived by motorcade at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab less than a quarter-mile from the White House. Trump briefly spoke to reporters on the street outside the restaurant, where he was met with cheers and some chants of “free Palestine.” Once he was inside, as he greeted restaurant patrons, a group of protesters holding Palestinian flags began chanting, “Free D.C., free Palestine, Trump is the Hitler of our time.”

An Ingham County judge on Tuesday threw out criminal charges against 15 Michigan Republicans who signed a certificate falsely claiming President Donald Trump won the 2020 election, ruling that state prosecutors had failed to show they had an intent to commit fraud. The decision by Judge Kristen Simmons, an appointee of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, tossed aside allegations that made national headlines and Michigan prosecutors' most direct attempt to bring accountability for the failed bid by Trump supporters to reverse the state's 2020 result...
#9 Lisa Cook Can’t Be Fired - For Now: Judge - Tyler Durden ZeroHedge, The Ann Arbor News, Ayn Rand, Bloomberg Linea Brasil, Kooikermom, and DailyShorts.io on X
Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook has been granted a reprieve after her sorority-sister judge, Jia Cobb, temporarily blocked President Donald Trump from firing her, allowing Cook to remain on the job amid allegations of mortgage fraud. Cobb granted Cook's request to continue in her role, finding that the alleged mortgage misconduct likely didn't amount to "cause" to fire her under the Federal Reserve Act. Cobb also found that the way Cook was fired likely violated her right to due process under the Constitution. "The best reading of the ‘for cause’ provision is that the bases for removal of a member of the Board of Governors are limited to grounds concerning a Governor’s behavior in office and whether they have been faithfully and effectively executing their statutory duties," Cobb wrote...#10 13-Year-Old Boy Plotting Major School Shooting Had Large Stockpile of Illegal Guns, Police Say - Carlos Garcia for Blaze Media, New York Post, Phil Stripling, Eyes on the Globe, WBRC 6 News, and The Washington Times on X
Washington state police said they were able to thwart a mass school shooting plot by a teenager who had access to a large stockpile of guns and was preparing to pull the trigger on his scheme. The Pierce County Sheriff's Office said they received an "intelligence communication" about the alleged plot late on Friday and arrested the teenager on Saturday at a residence on 20th Ave. Police performed a search warrant at the home with a SWAT team. "The search has produced a large quantity of firearms that were both secured and unsecured. Loaded magazines with school shooter writings on them, and clothing and writings that would support a typical mass shooting scenario, were confiscated," the statement reads...
