While in France, President-Elect Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Presidential Palace in Paris, France. In November, French President Macron was the first foreign leader to congratulate Trump on defeating his political opponent, Kamala Harris. During their meeting, both presidents reportedly discussed the reciprocal relationship between the two countries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later joined Trump and Macron in discussing global issues and maintaining alliances.

It is clear that the Biden Administration is committed to giving as much of our tax dollars to Ukraine before the Trump Administration takes office in January. Instead of funding the aid for the Americans affected by Hurricane Helene, our President would rather give it to a foreign nation. This is the 22nd aid packet that Biden has sent to Zelenskyy. During Trump’s campaign, his running mate, JD Vance, criticized the Biden administration for supporting Ukraine in 2022 after Russia’s invasion. Vance also suggested that the way for the war to come to an end would be for Ukraine to concede and use the land that Russia seized for a demilitarized zone. President Zelenskyy flatly rejected Vance’s proposal. During his campaign, Trump promised to end the war before Inauguration Day.
