#8 Kamala Harris Will Snub Prominent Catholic Dinner, First to Abandon Catholics Since 1984 - Steven Ertelt for Life News, Steve Cortes, and Raheem on X

Kamala Harris is no friend of Catholic Americans. As a radical pro-abortion candidate she is at odds with one of the primary teachings of the Catholic Church – to respect human life. Therefore, it’s no surprise she will skip out on a key Catholic dinner, one that presidential candidates of every party have attended since 1984.  Vice President Kamala Harris has decided to dodge former president Trump and skip this year’s Al Smith Dinner — a major election year event that generations of candidates have attended — becoming the first presidential hopeful to duck out since failed presidential wannabe Walter Mondale in 1984. While Trump has agreed to go to the 79th iteration of the Archdiocese of New York’s dinner on Oct. 17, Harris’s camp says she will instead campaign in key battleground states on the final stretch before election day, her campaign told The Post...

#7 Trump Leads Cincinnati ‘Cookie Poll’ That Has Predicted Every Election but One Since 1984 - Ryan King for The New York Post, Chief Nerd, MN Republicans Northland Edition, and AF Post on X

Donald Trump’s campaign is getting some dough-lightful news out of Ohio. A beloved Cincinnati bakery, whose “cookie poll” has accurately predicted every election outcome but one since 1984, has the former president and Republican nominee leading Democrat Kamala Harris in its unscientific survey. Trump notched about 54% support (2,953 cookies) to Harris’ 39% (2,134 cookies), with an “independent” smiley-face cookie scoring 7% (397 cookies), per the latest tally shared with The Post by Busken Bakery...

#6 RFK Jr. Asks Supreme Court to Restore Him on New York Ballot - Zach Schonfeld  for The Hill and on X
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asked the Supreme Court for an emergency intervention to restore his name on New York’s presidential ballot.  Lower courts excluded the former independent candidate from the ballot after finding he falsely claimed residency in the state because his Katonah, N.Y., address was not his fixed and permanent residency. Kennedy indicated in court filings that he has rented a room in the home from a childhood friend and stayed overnight on one occasion. His attorneys noted lower courts “did not find that anyone was misled,” insisting that taking him off the ballot was irrevocably depriving Kennedy’s New York supporters of their right to vote for him...

#4 Luzerne County, PA: Majority of Registered Voters Are Republicans for First Time Since 1970 - Wendell Husebø for Breitbart, Keith, ZetoSalena, and The Persistence on X

Republicans now account for the majority of voters registered in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, according to Department of State data released Monday. Luzerne County Republicans have not held the lead in registration since 1970, according to WFMZ-TV 69 News. The flip reflects the Pennsylvania Chase’s grassroots initiative and the ongoing political realignment under former President Donald Trump.  Luzerne County, known for being a major exporter of anthracite coal, is located in the northeast part of the state, just a few miles from Scranton, the birthplace of President Joe Biden. Biden lost the county to Trump by about eight percentage points...

#3 FTC Commissioner Warns New Report Could Be Used By Big Tech To Justify Censorship - Jordan Boyd for The Federalist, and HODler of Last Resort on X

A U.S. Federal Trade Commission official is concerned that a new 129-page report penned by her agency could be easily construed by Big Tech companies to justify the partisan censorship that has plagued their sites for years. In its “A Look Behind the Scenes: Examining the Data Practices of Social Media and Video Streaming Services” report published last week, the FTC suggests Amazon, Facebook, Google’s YouTube, Twitter, Snap, ByteDance (TikTok’s parent company), Discord, Reddit, and WhatsApp are guilty of participating in a “vast surveillance” operation...

#2 This Bill Would Turn Governors Into Tyrants, No Legislature Needed - Kendyl Turner for Blaze Media, Truuthistory and Dee on X

If adopted, the Public Health Emergency Authority Act would let governors seize resources and property, restrict individuals’ movement, and cull animal populations. Imagine a world where a governor controls your every move, choice, right, and liberty. While this may sound like a plot from a George Orwell dystopian novel, it’s happening now under the guise of “public safety.” Recently, the Uniform Law Commission, a powerful organization responsible for several radical proposals over the past century, introduced a new model bill — the Public Health Emergency Authority Act. The commission proposed the legislation in response to what they called the “unpreparedness” of federal and local authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ULC claims the model bill would improve states’ preparedness for public health emergencies by clarifying “the powers of a Governor to declare a public health emergency and to issue orders in response to that emergency.”

#1 Scarred by Violence, Lawmakers Plan for Possible ‘Mass Casualty’ Event - Disclose TV for The Washington Post, Peachy Keenan, Deenie, and Mario Nawfal on X

A bipartisan group of four House members is advocating for a constitutional amendment allowing for the quick replacement of Congress members in the event of a mass-casualty attack. Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-Wash.) with Reps. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), William Timmons (R-S.C.), and Emanuel Cleaver II (D-Mo.) put forth a proposal to ensure that Congress can continue its work if a large number of members are killed in a mass attack. This proposal aims to ensure continuous representation and prevent violence from shifting political power. "We’ve seen a 300 percent increase in threats against members over the last seven years," noted Rep. Derek Kilmer. The amendment would require House members to provide a list of potential replacements to their state’s governor. Filling vacancies quickly would help maintain stability and deter political violence. However, passing such an amendment is challenging due to the need for a two-thirds congressional vote and state ratification...
