#8 Bud Light Smartly Tapped Shane Gillis for Ads — The Latest Brand Doing Post-DEI Damage Control - Kirsten Fleming for The New York Post, Noah Sanborn Friedman, Outkick, and Ringothe5th on X
After a disastrous partnership with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney that reportedly cost the brand over $1 billion in lost sales last year, Bud Light has returned to its roots. The inch toward redemption started with a 2024 Super Bowl commercial featuring Peyton Manning and Post Malone. This week, Bud Light released a new ad starring comedian Shane Gillis — and it’s a full-on embrace of the brand’s fratty, frivolous ethos that, for decades, turned its ads into pop culture touchstones. And Dilly Dilly to that. If 2023 was peak woke, 2024 will be known as the year that DEI died — with corporations finally admitting it’s all a shakedown by lefty activists. Recently, companies like Harley-Davidson, Ford, John Deere and Lowe’s have all reversed course on DEI, thanks in large part to the work of people like Robby Starbuck calling them out.

#1 Study Shows Ketogenic Diet Shrinks Pancreatic Tumors - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, Valerie Ann Smith, and Nick Norwitz on X
Keto, carnivore, low-carb. These are all just “fad diets,” right? Not so fast. Scientists at UC San Francisco recently published a study in Nature that showed a high-fat ketogenic diet combined with fasting restricted the growth of pancreatic tumors in mice. The study took a look at how certain tumors use ketone bodies as an energy source and that fasting and a ketogenic diet change the way messenger RNA “feeds” those tumors. Let’s take a step back for a moment and talk at a basic level about how this all works. Disclaimer: I am a mere journalist and not a doctor or scientist. However, I adhere to the carnivore lifestyle, so I can explain this at a basic level. On a Standard American Diet (SAD), we consume highly processed grains, chemicals, seed oils, processed sugars, fats, and more. The body (at an inherent level) uses those substances for fuel. Then, it stores the rest as fat. In a ketogenic/low-carb/carnivore diet, you don’t eat many carbohydrates and sugars, and you consume more foods high in fat, which causes your body to first burn fat and then burn ketones for fuel.
