#10 Democrats Hope to Create Thousands of New Voters With Rush to Naturalize Immigrants, Expert Says - Michael Lee for Fox News, and George on X

Gaining thousands of new voters before the election could be the motivation behind the drive to clear the backlog of naturalization applications. "They won’t admit that," Lora Ries, director of the Heritage Foundation's Border Security and Immigration Center, told Fox News Digital when asked if gaining voters could be behind a push to naturalize more U.S. citizens. "They will describe it as naturalization is the ultimate goal and we want people to become Americans… but it’s always a political tactic to get more citizens with the assumption they will vote for you." Ries’ comments come after a New York Times report last week revealed that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USIS) is processing naturalization applications at speeds not seen in roughly a decade, taking an average of 4.9 months to process applications in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

#9 UC President Orders New Rules on Encampments, Masks as Students Return to School - Alex Hall for KQED, Steve McGuire, and American Jewish Committee on X

University of California President Michael V. Drake directed campus leaders on Monday to communicate and enforce rules on protest encampments as students prepare to return to class after last spring’s demonstrations against the war in Gaza. In a letter to the chancellors of the 10 UC campuses, which does not specifically mention the last year’s protests or violence at some schools, Drake outlined required policies that ban putting up tents and campsites on university property, blocking access to university buildings and masking to evade being recognized...

#8 Anti-Israel Protesters Arrested After Breaching Barrier at DNC Ahead of Biden Speech - The New York Post, Joni Kletter, Timcast News, and Adam Milstein on X

Hundreds of anti-Israel protesters breached the first layer of fencing outside the Democratic National Convention, with some later apprehended by Chicago police and others pushed back by officers behind to restore the secure perimeter. The protesters had gathered at Union Park earlier Monday and marched over to Park 578 — just a few hundred feet away from the United Center — where President Biden and others will deliver speeches to as many as 4,000 Democratic delegates. A multi-layer fenced perimeter around the convention forum separated them from the Israel-hating demonstrators, as tensions mounted in the early evening...

#7 Harvey Weinstein Heading to Jail in California After His Retrial in New York - Mike Bedigan for Independent, Mario Nawfal, and One America News on X

Harvey Weinstein will be sent to a California prison following his retrial on rape and sexual assault charges in New York, prosecutors announced on Monday. The disgraced Hollywood mogul will remain at New York City’s Rikers Island until his Manhattan case is resolved. His east coast conviction was overturned earlier this summer, and the retrial will go ahead in November. Weinstein appeared in court on Monday. After the hearing, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said: “Today, defendant Harvey Weinstein was formally arraigned on a governor’s warrant issued by Governor Kathy Hochul, who exercised her authority for him to remain in New York State until his case in New York County is adjudicated...

#6 What Fetterman's Communications Director Said to This Reporter Left Him Shocked - Matt Vespa  for Townhall, Dominic Pino, John Podhoretz, and National Review on X

As Mia reported earlier, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is skipping the Democratic National Convention. It’s not a surprise given the mayhem that’s bound to engulf Chicago this week. Tens of thousands of pro-Hamas agitators have planned at least six protests where clashes with police are guaranteed. Mr. Fetterman has been one of the Democratic Party’s most vocal supporters of Israel and its justified war in Gaza—his staff, not so much. Mr. Fetterman might be looking for a new communications director because what his senior staffer said to the media, on the record, is undoubtedly fireable and a demonstration about how kids these days don’t get it when it comes to working for someone, especially in politics. It was a quote that shocked reporter Peter Savodnik...

#5 California Man Defies Order From HOA to Take down Trump Flags and Decorations: ‘I’m Not Going to Be Bullied' - Blaze News, Bruce Snyder on X

A California man is refusing to take down his pro-Trump flag and decorations after his homeowners' association ordered him to take them down because they violate the HOA rules. Paul Wood Bonilla believes the HOA of his residence in Lodi is targeting him because the group's officials object to the political message. "I knew that the minute that I started supporting Trump that they were going to give me a hard time," Bonilla said to KOVR-TV. Bonilla received a letter from the HOA saying that it restricts signage in excess of three square feet. The letter does not mention the politics of his signage. "The guy took a bullet for me," said Bonilla, referring to Trump. "I am going to support him."

#4 Ben and Felicia Horowitz’s Political Pivot From Liberal Darlings to Trump Backers - Barnini Chakraborty for Washington Examiner, Jon Steinberg, and Wesley Yang on X

Former President Donald Trump had been the problem for years. Now, he’s the solution.  That’s the sharp pivot several Silicon Valley entrepreneurs are making, including billionaire Ben Horowitz, co-founder of the influential venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. Horowitz and his wife, Felicia, were power players in liberal political circles.  They hosted backyard barbecues at their Atherton, California, estate where they partied with tech royalty like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, Oprah, Gayle King, Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles, actor Terry Crews, and Van Jones...

#3 Why Isn’t Everyone Talking About the Healing Power of Sound? - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, and Brainwave on X

What holds the secrets of health and energy? It seems logical to assume that essential elements of nature can impact human vitality in both positive and negative ways. One such element is sound. Did you know that researchers at Stanford University have found that acoustics—the branch of physics concerned with the properties of sound—can be used to manipulate heart cells and create new heart tissue?

#2 Kamala Harris Campaign Accused of Booting Customers from Restaurant, Replacing Them with Paid Actors
Bryan Chai for The Western Journal, and Salty Goat, and Amuse on X

At a time when she can hardly afford any, another bit of bad PR appears to have struck the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris. Perhaps making matters even worse? The latest bad bit of chatter to afflict the de facto Democratic standard bearer comes from key battleground state Pennsylvania. Harris, whose campaign has already dealt with allegations of “stolen valor” and questions about her media availability in her short time at the top of the ticket, spent her Sunday touring the Keystone State in hopes of swaying some on-the-fence voters to the blue side.
