#10 Cori Bush Loses Missouri Dem House Primary Against Pro-Israel Opponent - David Zimmermann for National Review, and Juanita Broaddrick, Terrance K. Williams, and Nick Sorter on X
Representative Cori Bush (D., Mo.), the progressive "Squad" member who recently stopped short of calling Hamas a terrorist organization, lost a competitive House primary bid Tuesday night against St. Louis County prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell, who positioned himself as a pro-Israel alternative during the race. The Associated Press called Bell's primary victory at 11 pm EDT. He will now vie for Bush's place in the House come November, facing the winner of Tuesday's GOP primary in a district that President Joe Biden won by more than 60 points in 2020...#9 Weathering The Storm: Experts Weigh In On Recession Preparation - Tyler Durden Zero Hedge for Epoch Times and Nicks Adams on X
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data showed that employers hired 114,000 workers last month, far less than the bureau's projections of 185,000 jobs. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate has increased to 4.3 percent, reaching its highest point since October 2021. Japan's main Nikkei 225 stock index experienced a dramatic decline of more than 12 percent, marking its worst trading day since the Black Monday crash of 1987. This significant drop reflects broader concerns about the global economy and has contributed to the overall market turmoil. Financial analysts say these are indicators that a recession, if not a depression, is possible. On Sunday, Goldman Sachs economists increased the likelihood of a U.S. recession from 15 percent to 25 percent in the upcoming year...
#8 Broadcasting & Cable to Shutter As This Year's Media Meltdown Escalates - Alex Weprin for The Hollywood Reporter and Justin Hart on X
This year's media meltdown chaos is picking up again. Six months after layoffs, labor unrest, and contracts began rocking the media sector, the business continues to face dramatic challenges. Tuesday saw a number of examples. In a major deal, Ziff Davis cut a deal to acquire CNet from Red Ventures for about $100 million. CNet — which CBS acquired for $1.8 billion and subsequently sold to Red Ventures four years ago for $500 million — will join other tech outlets like Mashable, PCMag, and LifeHacker in the Ziff Davis stable. But the sharp decline in value underscores the perilous media moment...
#7 China-Tied Battery Manufacturer Admits It Is Subsidized by Chinese Gov't After All - Nick Pope for The Daily Caller, and Anna Hoffman on X
The taxpayer-funded U.S. arm of a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) battery maker quietly admitted on July 20 that it had received subsidies from the Chinese government after an executive suggested that the foreign power has no presence in the American subsidiary. Gotion, which is wholly "owned and controlled" by its China-based parent company, Gotion High-Tech, disclosed in an amended Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filing last month that it has received Chinese government subsidies. Chuck Thelen, vice president of North American manufacturing for Gotion, told Politico in August 2023 that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has no presence in the American subsidiary and told concerned locals in June that the CCP is merely "a political party, like Republican or Democrat."
#6 Tim Walz a 'Coward' and 'Traitor' for Retiring From Military Before Iraq, Says Guardsman Who Replaced VP Pick - Isabel Vincent for The New York Post, and Curtis, and Heatherheather007 on X
When Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz chose to leave the military on the eve of his deployment to Iraq, Thomas Behrends went in his place. "I needed to hit the ground running and take care of the troops — and tell them we were going to war," Behrends said of the 500 soldiers under his command. "For a guy in that position, to quit is cowardice." Behrends, a 63-year-old farmer in Brewster, Minn., called the Democratic vice presidential candidate "a traitor" for retiring from their Minnesota National Guard unit just before their deployment to Iraq in 2005. "When your country calls, you are supposed to run into battle — not the other way," the retired command sergeant major told The Post Tuesday. "He ran away. It's sad. "He had the opportunity to serve his country and said 'Screw you' to the United States. That's not who I would pick to run for vice president."
#5 The Riots in Britain Represent the Total Failure of Britain's Governing Class - John Daniel Davidson for The Federalist, and Lord David Alton on X
The rioting breaking out all across Britain right now is what happens when a country's political class tries to depoliticize mass immigration — smearing anyone who objects to it as "far-right" — and then impose a policy of mass immigration by force. At some point, the people revolt. Britain's liberal elites have latched onto "online misinformation" and racism as an explanation for the riots, but the real explanation is that Britain's leaders have sold their countrymen out for decades, importing an unassimilated foreign population against the wishes of native Britons. That is a recipe for social unrest and civic strife, and that's exactly what Britain's ruling class has brought about.
#4 Who Director Considers Declaring Public Health Emergency Over Mpox Virus Outbreak - Tyler Durden Zero Hedge for Epoch Times, and Mario Nawfal on X
The World Health Organization's director-general said the United Nations health body is considering declaring an emergency for mpox, also known as monkeypox, amid an outbreak in Africa. "But more funding and support for a comprehensive response are needed," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote on the social media platform X on Sunday. "I am considering convening an International Health Regulations emergency committee to advise me on whether the outbreak of mpox should be declared a public health emergency of international concern." By Tuesday, it was unclear when the WHO would declare the emergency or issue any warnings about the virus...
#3 Fact Checked: Calling for Military Use Against Anti-Vaxxers Confirms Peter Hotez is a Deep State Puppet - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, and Dr. Ben Tapper, and Brownstone Institute on X
Pediatric vaccine "scientist" Dr. Peter Hotez is on the warpath to fight against what he dubs anti-vaccine and anti-science aggression. After discussing the crisis with his "brother and mentor," Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and remarking the situation extended beyond what the power-hungry World Health Organization (WHO) could control, Hotez recently announced that coordinated global action is needed to address the "security problem" presented by those refusing experimental "vaccines." Hotez added that he had informed deep state puppet the Biden administration that instead, the gang must bring in Homeland Security, the Commerce Department, the Justice Department, and NATO to fight the "lethal force" of resistance presented by the individuals not obedient to the mass vaccination plan.#2 Empower Oversight: Homeland Security Has Done Nothing to Stop Abuse of Quiet Skies Surveillance Program - Wendi Strauch Mahoney for UncoverDC and Tracy Beanz and Ashley Nicole on X
For two-plus years, Empower Oversight has tried to get answers from Joseph Cuffari about the abuses of TSA's Quiet Skies surveillance program. The alleged targeting of Tulsi Gabbard by the TSA's Quiet Skies program has prompted Tristan Leavitt with Empower Oversight to send yet another letter to Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to ask why the TSA continues to "waste taxpayer resources and abuse its authority." While it is incredible that an active U.S. Army Reserve officer, former congresswoman, and presidential candidate would be targeted, it is true. Screenshots of the Target Package being used to surveil Gabbard prove Gabbard is enrolled in the program. The screenshots were provided to UncoverDC by Sonya LaBosco, Executive Director of the Air Marshal National Council (AMNC).#1 Deadly Tropical Storm Debby Drenches East Coast - CNN and Ed Piotrowski, NWS Wilmington NC, Andrew Dockery, and Cherie Barrett on X
As Tropical Storm Debby churns in the Atlantic before making a turn back toward the U.S. coastline, the city of Charleston, South Carolina, is lifting its curfew. "After assessing overnight conditions, officials have determined that it is safe to return to normal activities," the city announced in a news release Wednesday morning. Only one road in Charleston remained closed as of 7:30 am Wednesday. The curfew began Monday night. We will remain vigilant as Debby lingers nearby, but for now we are just grateful for everyone doing their part," Mayor William Cogswell said in a statement. The Charleston police and fire departments said they did not need to perform any rescues during the storm...
