#10 Independent Women’s Forum, Independent Women’s Voice Applaud Bipartisan Calls For New Leadership At FDIC - IWF, and Cable News Watcher and Sen Thom Tillis on X
Today, Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) and Independent Women’s Voice (IWV) applaud bipartisan efforts to call for the resignation of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chairman Martin Gruenberg following last week’s House Financial Services Committee’s hearing and Senate Banking Committee’s hearing featuring disturbing allegations about the workplace culture at the FDIC. Patrice Onwuka, director of the Center for Economic Opportunity at IWF, issued the following statement: “Time’s up for Martin Gruenberg. His complicity and woeful leadership in the face of years of allegations of harassment, discrimination, wrongdoing, and retaliation cannot be ignored. Unlike other women’s groups that were loud during the MeToo era but silent on Mr. Gruenberg, IWF, and IWV stood up for women at the FDIC. We appreciate that Chairman Sherrod Brown placed the victims and the reputation of the FDIC above party politics. We hope all of his colleagues in the Senate and House follow his lead.”
#9 Ship Behind Baltimore Bridge Collapse Towed to Port — But Crew Stuck on Board for 55 Days Without Personal Cellphones Still Can’t Leave - Ronny Reyes and Isabel Keane for The New York Post, and Snowflake News on X
The ship that caused the deadly Baltimore bridge collapse has finally been removed and towed back to port, but the 21 crew members who have been stuck for 55 days aren’t able to leave the vessel just yet. The massive Dali cargo freighter regained buoyancy on Monday morning as part of a huge team effort by various local authorities and was moved away from the wreckage of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The bridge collapsed on March 26 after the ship struck one of its support columns, killing six construction workers who were filling potholes on the bridge overnight...

#7 Louisiana Set to Proudly Display the Ten Commandments in Classrooms and on College Campuses - Joseph Mackinnon for Blaze Media and Logican54 on X
Louisiana state Rep. Dodie Horton (R) succeeded last year in getting House Bill 8 enacted, such that all public schools in the state are now required to display "In God We Trust" in every classroom. Evidently keen to retake more ground lost after decades of secularizing efforts, Horton introduced legislation early this year that would require K-12 public schools, colleges, and universities to display the Ten Commandments on campus and in the classroom. In April, the Louisiana House voted 82-19 for Horton's House Bill 71. On Thursday, the Louisiana Senate voted 30-8 in favor of the bill after it had undergone multiple changes aimed at preempting various legal challenges...
#6 ‘Nowhere Near Ready For Prime Time’: Biden Wants Companies To Disclose Climate Risks -A Trial Run Did Not Go Well - Nick Pope for The Daily Caller and Lowell Mennenga on X
Six major American financial institutions struggled to accurately assess the extent of their exposure to climate change and related risks, according to the Federal Reserve. The Fed ran a pilot program for six leading American banks to assess how ready they are to keep track of the risks that climate change poses to their businesses, a practice that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is attempting to mandate for large corporations across the country. The banks — JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup — generally struggled to assess their exposure to climate change because they lacked key data and because climate risk modeling is so new that even the country’s biggest banks could not identify reliable techniques, according to the Fed’s May report on the pilot program.
#5 ICC Seeks Israel Arrest Warrants: What Does It Mean and What Happens Next? - Mike Brest for the Washington Examiner and Furkan Gozukara on X
Chief prosecutor Karim Khan said he’s pursuing arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant because he believes they were responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including the starvation of civilians as a weapon of war and “intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population.” The warrants have not yet been issued because judges from the court must approve them. Several Israeli leaders objected to the ICC’s announcement, arguing that its leaders and the conduct of the Israeli military should not be compared to the U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hamas that carried out the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks. The United States shared that sentiment. “The ICC prosecutor’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous,” President Joe Biden said in a statement. “And let me be clear: whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence — none — between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security.”
#4 Claim: Prosecutions, Disbarment of Trump Lawyers Aims to ‘Chill’ GOP Lawyers - Joel B. Pollak for Breitbart and Conservative Educator on X
The ongoing efforts to prosecute, disbar, and smear attorneys who served as election lawyers for President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign could leave Republicans short of legal talent for the election fight in November 2024. That’s the analysis of some observers, noting the recent successful prosecutions of Trump aides Peter Navarro and Stephen K. Bannon and the ongoing effort to disbar Trump attorney John Eastman, among other such efforts. Democrats have aggressively targeted over 400 Republican lawyers and politicians with criminal charges, civil lawsuits, and disbarment proceedings ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
#3 Microplastics Found in Every Human Testicle in Study - Damian Carrington for The Guardian and Bore Cure and Mario Nawfal on X
Microplastics have been found in human testicles, with researchers saying the discovery might be linked to declining sperm counts in men. The scientists tested 23 human testes, as well as 47 testes from pet dogs. They found microplastic pollution in every sample. The human testicles had been preserved, so their sperm count could not be measured. However, the sperm count in the dogs’ testes could be assessed and was lower in samples with higher contamination with PVC. The study demonstrates a correlation but further research is needed to prove microplastics cause sperm counts to fall...
