#1 Mamdani Criticized by Fellow Democrats for Statement Mourning Oct. 7 Attacks While Condemning Israel - Joe Walsh for CBS News, New York Post, POLITICO, Fox News Politics, John Solomon, and Newsweek on X
A statement by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani that recognized three years since Hamas' "horrific" attack on Israel — and extensively criticized Israel's "ongoing genocide" in the Gaza Strip — has drawn fury from some Democrats. Mamdani is a longstanding and vehement critic of Israel's actions during its war with Hamas in Gaza, and an opponent of U.S. aid to Israel — issues that have divided Democrats nationwide and drawn criticism for the mayor from moderates, leaders of Jewish groups, and Israeli officials. Mamdani has long defended his stance, saying criticism of Israel is distinct from antisemitism...

A state appellate court on Wednesday ordered that a grand jury report alleging that $10 million from a Medicaid settlement was "misappropriated" be expunged. The grand jury report, though, has already been leaked and extensively reported in the press, first obtained and published by CBS News Miami. The 19-page ruling from the 1st District Court of Appeal was critical of the report and of its leak to the press. Under state law, grand jury reports that don't lead to indictments are supposed to be sealed until those named in the report are given a copy and the opportunity to suppress and expunge the record.

#4 GLP-1 Friendly: Selling the Fix for the Fix - Tracy Beanz & Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, UncoverDC, Forbes, The Washington Post, FiercePharma and BiotechTV on X
For a nation battling obesity, we can now confirm that one in ten adults in America is now injecting a drug designed to make the body stop wanting food. Since 2024, use of GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy has nearly quadrupled, and an analysis that same year in JAMA Cardiology estimated that more than half of all of the adults in the United States—roughly 137 million people—are medically eligible to take these drugs. The GLP-1 craze may be the fastest change in how a nation eats that we’ve ever seen. And while a great many argue whether these drugs are a wonderful miracle or a destructive menace, the nation’s food industry has quietly gotten to work rebuilding how it subliminally sells us food. Yes, indeed, Big Food has taken note of the medicated future, done the math, and decided it’s time to repackage what it sells. Tweak the products and capture the new market, so to speak...
