A leading Catholic advocacy group is calling on Massachusetts bishops to excommunicate Gov. Maura Healey after the Democrat signed legislation removing restrictions on late-term abortions, allowing for abortions up until birth. Healey, a Catholic, signed the Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act Aug. 10. The measure gives physicians greater judgment in determining whether to perform late-term abortions without facing legal penalties. Previously, Massachusetts permitted abortions after 24 weeks only if a physician determined it was necessary to preserve the mother’s physical or mental health or save her life, or in cases of fatal fetal diagnoses. When the new law takes effect Nov. 8, those statutory restrictions will be removed, aligning Massachusetts with states like Colorado, Maryland, and Oregon, which have no gestational limits...

Drug repurposing offers a pathway to identify accessible, low-toxicity cancer therapies. Ivermectin and mebendazole demonstrate multi-target anticancer activity in preclinical models. This study evaluates real-world patient-reported outcomes, safety, and adherence in patients with cancer using this combination. We analyzed a prospective observational cohort of 197 patients with cancer prescribed ivermectin and mebendazole off-label via a U.S. telemedicine platform. Participants received compounded capsules (25 mg ivermectin, 250 mg mebendazole). Data were collected through standardized digital surveys at baseline and 6-month follow-up. A total of 122 participants (61.9%) completed follow-up. Primary outcomes included self-reported cancer status, adherence, and adverse events. Confidence intervals were calculated using the Wilson method, with dose-stratified analyses using Chi-square tests...
