#1 Supreme Court Upholds Grace Period for Late-Arriving Mail-in Ballots - Avery Lotz for Axios, ThePersistence, Nick Sortor, The White House, and MAGA Voice on X

The Supreme Court upheld a Mississippi law Monday that allows mailed ballots to be counted if they're postmarked on or before the date of the election and received within five business days. The justices' ruling could protect voting in states with similar laws this November and is sure to feed President Trump's frequent criticism of voting by mail. The Trump administration backed the law's challengers, arguing that allowing states to count ballots received after Election Day undermines the integrity of federal elections. In a Truth Social post condemning the decision as a "tremendous loss," Trump called on the Senate to pass his top legislative priority, the SAVE America Act.

#2 Trump Must Pay E. Jean Carroll $5 Million After Supreme Court Denies His Appeal of Sexual Abuse Verdict John Fritze for CNN, Ted Lieu, E. Jean Carroll, The Washington Post, Jenni/Pop Base, and Meidas Touch/Donald J. Trump on X

The Supreme Court Monday declined to take up an appeal from President Donald Trump over a $5 million verdict and finding that he sexually abused and defamed E. Jean Carroll, a decision that means the president will now have to pay the magazine columnist. Carroll sued Trump in 2019 for defamation, and then she sued him again in 2022 for defamation and battery after New York enacted a law allowing the victims of sexual abuse to file civil claims for past incidents. In an unusual quirk, the second case — the one filed in 2022 — went to trial first, and the jury awarded Carroll $5 million...

#3 Trump Signs Memo Making It Easier for Americans to Fix Own Vehicles - Reuters, Fox News, Eric Daugherty, The Epoch Times, Cuckturd/Leading Report, and Autist the 17th on X
U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on ‌Monday supporting Americans' ability to repair their own vehicles. While Americans are generally free to repair their own vehicles, federal law prohibits tampering with emissions-control systems, and automakers have long restricted independent mechanics' access to diagnostic software, repair information, and specialized tools. Right-to-repair advocates argue that those restrictions make repairs more expensive and limit consumer choice, while automakers say they are needed to protect vehicle safety, ‌cybersecurity , and emissions compliance...

#4 Supreme Court Expands Presidential Firing Power, Overturning 90-Year-Old Ruling - Melissa Quinn, MCBN, The Bottom Line, Yahoo Finance, The New York Post, and Meet the Press on X

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that removal protections for members of the Federal Trade Commission are unconstitutional and overturned a 90-year-old decision that allowed Congress to shield members of certain independent agencies from being fired by the president at will. The decision from the high court expands the president's power over many independent boards and commissions, which Congress had insulated from political pressure by saying their members could only be removed by the president for cause...

#5 Supreme Court Rules Trump Cannot Fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook for Now - Dan Mangan and Luke Fountain for CNBC News, Mario Nawfal, Eric Daugherty, Gunther Eagleman, NEWSMAX, and SCOTUS Wire on X

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that President Donald Trump does not have the authority to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from the central bank for now. But the opinion leaves open the possibility of dismissing her in the future. The court did not rule whether Trump ultimately will have the power to fire Cook or any other member of the Fed. Instead, the 5-4 ruling rejected Trump’s bid to pause a lower federal court ruling that had prevented her from being terminated as her lawsuit challenging her dismissal proceeds. Trump had claimed he sought to fire Cook because of allegations she committed mortgage fraud, which she adamantly denied...

Seattle's LGBT Pride parade on Sunday descended into bedlam as attendees stripped off their clothes and marched the streets naked while children looked on. One video, filmed by Chloe Cole, a de-transitioner activist, and posted by Frontlines Turning Point USA, shows people from a group called "Friends of Denny Blaine" marching nude. Some onlookers clapped and cheered, while the video panned to young children watching the spectacle. Another video shows naked people prancing around an outdoor fountain near children who were playing in the water...

#7 San Francisco Archdiocese Agrees to $395 Million Settlement With Sex Abuse Survivors - Michael Bott and Candice Nguyen for NBC News, Pepe Deluxe, Pappin, NewsRadio WHAM 1180, James M deVille, and Paul Brennan on X
The San Francisco Archdiocese has agreed to pay $395 million and implement a series of child protection and transparency reforms to settle hundreds of lawsuits brought by survivors who say they were sexually abused by clergy and other church employees as children. The agreement, announced Monday by plaintiffs’ attorneys and the Archdiocese, would resolve roughly 530 claims filed after California temporarily lifted the statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse lawsuits and comes nearly three years after the Archdiocese sought bankruptcy protection. Attorney Jeff Anderson, who represents hundreds of clergy abuse survivors, called the agreement the largest per-survivor settlement ever reached in a bankruptcy involving a Catholic diocese. He also said the settlement allows plaintiffs to continue pursuing claims against some of the Archdiocese’s insurers...

#8 Director Carl Rinsch Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Prison in $11 Million Fraud Case Over Unfinished Netflix Show - CBS News, News 4 Buffalo, newsofbahrain, Variety, MTN, and ABS-CBN News

Hollywood writer-director Carl Rinsch was sentenced Monday to 2 1/2 years in prison after being convicted of defrauding Netflix out of $11 million for a never-finished sci-fi series. Supporters, including Keanu Reeves, had asked the court to show him leniency. Rinsch, best known for the 2013 samurai fantasy film "47 Ronin," was convicted in December of federal wire fraud and other charges. According to prosecutors and trial testimony, he told Netflix he needed $11 million to finish a show called "White Horse" but diverted the money into a personal account and ultimately spent whopping sums on luxury cars, watches, clothes, and household goods, including $638,000 on two mattresses...

Charlie Kirk’s parents and his widow, Erika Kirk, will attend a key hearing in his murder case next week in Utah, according to a person familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. Prosecutors will aim to show during the weeklong preliminary hearing that they have enough evidence against Tyler Robinson to proceed to a trial. The hearing, set to begin July 6, will mark the most significant presentation of evidence in the case so far — and the first time that Kirk's family will be in the courtroom with the man accused of killing him...

#10 The Power of Positive Aging: How Our Beliefs Can Rewire Our Future - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, UncoverDC, Ben Pitts Nashville, Organic Consumers Association, Jessica Stillman, and The News-Times on X
The power of positive thinking is tremendous. Yet, for decades, the medical establishment, no doubt under the influence of Big Pharma, has told us the same story about getting older. We are told that the body and mind begin a slow, inevitable decline the moment we cross into our sixties, and the best we can hope for is a way to manage the descent. But hold on a minute. A recent study by Yale University indicates that long-held belief is wrong, and the numbers behind it are impossible to ignore...
