#1 Judge Allows Trump to Implement Mail-in Voting Executive Order - Luc Cohen for Reuters, Bloomberg, John Solomon, Kyle Cheney, The Star, and Marcia Green on X
A U.S. judge on Thursday declined to block President Donald Trump's executive order tightening rules on mail-in voting in a loss for the Democratic Party, whose lawyers argued that it could disenfranchise millions of voters.
The decision comes as Trump's Republicans are locked in a tight battle to keep control of both houses of the U.S. Congress in the November midterm elections. Trump has for years pushed the false claim that his 2020 election defeat was the result of widespread voter fraud and has criticized voting by mail...

#2 US Supreme Court Settles Long-Running Water Dispute Over Dwindling Rio Grande - Susan Montoya Bryan for AP, The Washington Times, Jack Prandelli, Right Angle News Network, Denver7News, and Bloomberg Law on X

The U.S. Supreme Court has approved a settlement package designed to rein in groundwater pumping along one of North America’s longest rivers and ensure enough water reliably makes it from New Mexico to Texas, ending a long-running dispute over management of the Rio Grande. In a brief order on Tuesday, the court accepted the recommendation of a special master to move forward with agreements first proposed last year by New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado. The settlement calls for reducing groundwater pumping along the dwindling river and retiring water rights from irrigated farmland in southern New Mexico. The states held up the proposal as a promise to restore order to an elaborate system of storing and sharing water between two vast irrigation districts in southern New Mexico and western Texas...

#3 Feds Seize $40M in Gold Bars From Ex-CIA Agent’s House in Virginia - Amanda Lee Myers for USA TODAY, RawBooty.com, GhanaWeb, Russia News, NewsForce, and War & state on X

An ex-government official with top security clearance has been arrested after federal agents found hundreds of gold bars in his Virginia home worth at least $40 million, according to court records obtained by USA TODAY. David Rush, who is facing a charge of theft of public money, was arrested last week and remains in federal custody pending a detention hearing next week. His attorney declined USA TODAY's request for comment on May 27. During a search of Rush's Virginia home last week, FBI agents found 303 gold bars that each weighed about 2.2 pounds and are estimated to be worth more than $40 million, Special Agent Matthew Johnson of the FBI wrote in an affidavit outlining the case against Rush.

#4 Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Calls for Special Legislative Session on Property Tax Relief Plan - Abby Dodge and Bri Buckley for CBS News, Alex Lanfranconi/Ron DeSantis, Eric Daugherty, MAGA Voice, Shawn Farash/The Epoch Times on X

Many Florida homeowners would see their property tax bills eliminated or severely cut under a plan released Wednesday by Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis is calling for the Legislature to convene Monday to consider his proposal, which if they approve it would appear on the November ballot.  At least 60% of voters would need to support the measure for it to take effect. Under the plan, the current exemption for homestead properties would rise from $50,000 to $250,000 immediately, with a further expansion to be scheduled by the Legislature after the measure is passed that would eventually eliminate taxes completely for those properties. "I want to get something done. I want to make sure people can go and vote for something, and then see something that's going to be very, very meaningful in their lives," DeSantis said while at Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Airport Westshore...

#5 US Justice Department Launches Criminal Investigation Into Trump Accuser E Jean Carroll, Reports Say - Alys Davies for BBC, TIME, ABC News, CNN, Reuters, and Eric Daugherty on X

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has opened a criminal investigation into writer E Jean Carroll, who accused President Donald Trump of sexual assault, CBS News, the BBC's US partner, has reported. The investigation is looking into whether Carroll committed perjury in connection with civil cases she brought against Trump, the news outlet quotes sources as saying. Carroll, a former magazine columnist, accused Trump of sexual assault and defamation, and successfully sued him in two cases. Both judgments were upheld on appeal, but Trump has since asked the Supreme Court to overturn the first of them...

Prosecutors accuse Spagnulo of placing a series of bets from October to December based on internal Google search data that tracked user searches...

#7 Dozens of Ex-Judges Push to Look Into Trump’s “Anti-Weaponization Fund” Settlement, Calling It a “Fraud on the Court” - Joe Walsh for CBS News, Q Cast Side, Donnie Cope, J p., Robbi F, and Ryan J. Reilly on X

A group of 35 former federal judges asked a court Wednesday to reopen a legal dispute between President Trump and the federal government that was settled by creating a controversial $1.776 billion "anti-weaponization fund," calling the deal potentially fraudulent. The legal filing adds to growing criticism of the settlement deal, which the Justice Department announced last week to resolve a lawsuit from the president accusing the Internal Revenue Service of allowing his tax returns to leak. At the center of the deal is a multibillion-dollar fund that would pay people who allege they were victimized by government "weaponization," and a promise that the IRS will not pursue claims against the president based on prior tax returns...

#8 Born for Profit: The Birth Canal Is Essential. Hospitals Disagree - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, UncoverDC, Dr. Naomi Wolf. 8 NYT Bestsellers. DPhil, Poetry./Concerned Citizen, Ah! Bright Wings/Michael F Kane, and Steven Franssen on X
One in three babies born in the United States today arrives via cesarean section. In 1970, that number was one in twenty. Even the World Health Organization—an institution we have documented elsewhere as deeply compromised by pharmaceutical and globalist interests—recommends that C-sections make up no more than 15% of all births, acknowledging that above that threshold the risks begin to outweigh the benefits. Yet, we are now running at more than double that. And the gap between what even a corrupted global health body recommends and what American hospitals are actually doing isn’t explained by medical necessity. It’s explained by money...

#9 Kari Lake: Media Freaking Out Over Trump's Health - NEWSMAX, Clay Waters, Fox News/danni 120, Gary, Astead, and Daily Mail on X

Kari Lake accused the mainstream media Wednesday on Newsmax of fixating on President Donald Trump's health while ignoring what she described as obvious signs of decline from former President Joe Biden during his administration. On "Rob Schmitt Tonight," Lake said the media showed a double standard in its treatment of Trump, who turns 80 on June 14, compared with Biden, who was 82 when he left office as the oldest serving U.S. president."You know, it was 'Weekend at Bernie's' for four years. The media ignored everything," said Lake, who has been nominated by Trump to serve as U.S. ambassador to Jamaica...

#10 Pentagon Puts Building Blocks in Place for Cuba Invasion - Paul McLeary for POLITICO, US Homeland Security News, Mario Nawfal, Thomas A. Whitaker, Politics & Poll Tracker, and Department of State on X

The Pentagon has spent months positioning the troops and weapons needed for the U.S. to launch a military attack on Cuba — all it needs is a final go-ahead from Donald Trump. The president has floated an invasion of the island after economic and political pressure failed to topple the Communist government. But the Navy’s built-up presence in the region — the largest in the world outside the Middle East — would allow the U.S. to act immediately. These strategically placed assets set the table for military action, from a capture of Havana’s leadership much like the seizure of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, to a series of precision strikes. And they open the possibility that the U.S. throws itself into the third international conflict of the Trump administration...
