A Southern California mayor has agreed to plead guilty to acting as an illegal agent for the Chinese government, and has resigned from her city position, officials said Monday. Eileen Wang, the mayor of Arcadia, was charged in April with one count of acting in the United States as an illegal agent of a foreign government. She was accused of doing the bidding of Chinese officials, such as sharing articles favorable to Beijing, without prior notification to the US government as required by law. The 58-year-old was elected in November 2022 to a five-person city council, from which the mayor is selected on a rotating basis. City manager Dominic Lazzaretto said in a news release that no city finances or staff were involved...

A nonprofit is suing the National Park Service, the Department of the Interior, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum over the decision to resurface the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on Washington, D.C.'s National Mall, and to paint the pool's basin blue. The suit was filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF), an education and advocacy organization. In the suit, TCLF is asking a federal judge to halt the project, saying that the Trump administration failed to have the project reviewed federally, as is dictated by the National Historic Preservation Act...
#4 DOJ Weighing New Criminal Case Against Dr. Anthony Fauci — Despite Biden’s Autopen Pardon and Statute of Limitations Running Out - Steven Nelson for New York Post, TheEternalAbyss/Juanita Broaddrick, Rand Paul, DreamLeaf/Remarks, Brandon Straka #WalkAway/Leading Report, and US Homeland Security News on X
Dr. Anthony Fauci on Monday survived a five-year legal deadline to face criminal charges for allegedly lying to Congress about funding risky research in Wuhan, China — but he isn’t out of the woods, The Post has learned. Fauci testified to a Senate committee on May 11, 2021, that he did not fund “gain of function” research that genetically altered coronaviruses in the same city where the COVID-19 pandemic started — as he tried to tamp down the now-dominant “lab leak” theory. Evidence later proved he did. The country’s former top infectious disease official still could face other potential charges for lesser-known contested testimony, or for alleged conduct stretching closer to the present day, such as for conspiracy, insiders said, even though his best-known alleged crime went uncharged...
#5 Oust Me if You Can: Britain’s Starmer Challenges Mutinous Party - Alexander Smith for NBC News, NEWSMAX, The Wall Street Journal, BRITAIN IS BROKEN, and Alex Jones on X
That was British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s defiant message Tuesday to a growing rebellion within his Labour Party. More than 80 Labour lawmakers have called for the prime minister to step down or say when he will depart, including several members of his inner government Cabinet. But in a crunch meeting with ministers inside No. 10 Downing St. early Tuesday, Starmer faced down the growing mutiny. “The country expects us to get on with governing. That is what I am doing and what we must do as a Cabinet,” Starmer said, according to his office...

A swarm of agitators descended on the Oregon hotel where FBI Director Kash Patel was believed to be staying while attending a friend’s funeral over the weekend. Video circulating on social media shows the crowd shouting as they convened outside the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland on Saturday night. The group arrived to protest what they described as the "weaponization" of the FBI under President Donald Trump’s administration, as well as Patel’s handling of documents stemming from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to FOX 12 Oregon...
#7 Inflation Report to Show Latest Prices as Fuel Costs Surge Amid Iran War - Max Zahn for ABC News, Good Morning America, FXStreet News, MRKT, BITCOIN EXPERT INDIA, and BNN Bloomberg on X
An inflation report on Tuesday will provide a fresh gauge of prices as the Iran war ratchets up costs for gasoline, airfares, and other expenses. Economists expect consumer prices to have risen 3.8% in April, when a surge in gasoline costs took hold weeks into the war, which would mark a significant acceleration from 3.3% in the previous month. As recently as February, inflation stood at 2.4%, clocking in just a tick above the Federal Reserve’s target level of 2%. The Middle East conflict prompted the Iranian closure of the Strait of Hormuz in March, a maritime trading route that facilitates the transport of about one-fifth of global oil supply. The standoff prompted one of the largest oil shocks ever recorded. The U.S. is a net exporter of petroleum, meaning the country produces more oil than it consumes. But since oil prices are set on a global market, U.S. prices move in response to swings in worldwide supply and demand...
#8 Trump Says Iran Ceasefire Is on ‘Life Support’ and Proposes Gas Tax Pause as Strait Stays Closed - AP News, Eric Daughtery, NEWSMAX, Good Morning America, and Wayne DuPree on X
U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday said the Iran ceasefire is on “life support” after rejecting Tehran’s latest proposal, which officials said included some nuclear concessions. Trump also proposed suspending the federal gas tax to help with higher fuel prices caused by the war. The stalled diplomacy and recent exchanges of fire could tip the Middle East back into open warfare and prolong the worldwide energy crisis sparked by the conflict. Iran still has a chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global oil and gas shipments, and America is blockading Iranian ports. Asked at the White House if the ceasefire was still in effect, Trump said it’s on “life support.” “I would call it the weakest right now after reading that piece of garbage they sent us,” Trump added. “I didn’t even finish reading it.”
#9 Trump Picks Cameron Hamilton to Run FEMA - Thomas Frank for POLITICO, MAGA Lady, Grammy Loves Golf, Nan Palmer, ABC News 4, and Reuters Legal on X
President Donald Trump on Monday nominated Cameron Hamilton to run the Federal Emergency Management Agency, a year after he fired him as acting administrator of the agency. Hamilton would be the first permanent FEMA administrator in the current Trump administration if he’s confirmed by the Senate. The former Navy SEAL was fired after he clashed with then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who gave him a lie-detector test as she searched for people inside the agency who she believed had spoken with news reporters. The day before his dismissal on May 8, 2025, Hamilton seemed to contradict the president when he told a House subcommittee that FEMA should not be eliminated, as Trump had threatened to do...
#10 Serve, Suffer, Submit Your DNA: How America Turned Its Veterans Into a Lifetime Experiment - Tracy Beanz and Michelle Edwards for The HighWire, UncoverDC, Pete Miller, Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization, Veterans Affairs, and FAVER on X
For decades, as if there are no consequences beyond potential death or dismemberment on the battlefield, our service members are asked to put their bodies on the line. What they aren’t told—what the government has known and consistently failed to disclose—is that the enemy isn’t always on the other side of the battlefield. Sometimes the enemy is within. It is in the water they drink, the air they breathe, the chemicals sprayed around their bases, and the vaccines injected into their arms without consent or adequate safety data. A new study makes that reality impossible to ignore...
