#10 Exclusive: DOJ, FBI Conclude Epstein Had No “Client List,” Died by Suicide - Alex Isenstadt for Axios, Elon Musk, The Redheaded Libertarian, Hodgetwins, Grace/Bo Loudon, Kira/BRICS News, Robby Starbuck, and Jack Paso on X

President Trump's Justice Department and FBI have concluded they have no evidence that convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed powerful figures, kept a "client list," or was murdered, according to a memo detailing the findings obtained by Axios. The administration is releasing a video — in both raw and "enhanced" versions — that it says indicates no one entered the area of the Manhattan prison where Epstein was held the night he died in 2019. The idea supports a medical examiner's finding that Epstein died by suicide, the two-page memo claims. The findings represent the first time Trump's administration has officially contradicted conspiracy theories about Epstein's activities and his death — theories that had been pushed by the FBI's top two officials before Trump appointed them to the bureau...

Flash floods in Texas killed at least 82 people over the Fourth of July holiday weekend and left others still missing, including girls attending a summer camp. The devastation along the Guadalupe River, outside of San Antonio, has drawn a massive search effort as officials face questions over their preparedness and the speed of their initial actions. Here’s what to know about the deadly flooding, the colossal weather system that drove it in and around Kerr County, Texas, and ongoing efforts to identify victims...

#8 Texas Lawmakers Failed to Pass a Bill to Improve Local Disaster Warning Systems This Year - Terri Langford and Carlos Nogueras Ramos for The Texas Tribune, William J. Soutar, Riggie 711, Conrad Hauser/Joe G, Kathleen Vale, and Kathy Irwin on X

For the last three days, state Rep. Wes Virdell has been out with first responders in Kerr County as they searched for victims and survivors from the devastating floods that swept through Central Texas early Friday morning. “All the focus right now is let’s save all the lives we can,” Virdell, who was still on the scene in Kerrville, told The Texas Tribune on Sunday. Virdell’s closeup view of the havoc wreaked on his district has made a lasting impression, he said, and left him reconsidering a vote he made just a few months ago against a bill that would have established a statewide plan to improve Texas’ disaster response, including better alert systems, along with a grant program for counties to buy new emergency communication equipment and build new infrastructure like radio towers...

#7 Musk Announces Arrival of New ‘America Party’ After Trump Split - Giselle Ruhiyyih Ewing for Politico, Brilyn Hollyhand, PAMELA HENSLEY, Cynical Publius, ThePersistence, Good Lawgic, and Shawn Hendrix on X

Elon Musk declared the launch of his new political party on Saturday, a project he has repeatedly floated in the weeks since his explosive breakup with President Donald Trump — but provided no details as to how he planned to jump through the hoops necessary to establish a viable alternative. The billionaire entrepreneur and onetime Republican megadonor — who mere months ago appeared as the president’s right-hand man in the Oval Office after pouring millions into his campaign — has for weeks publicly contemplated starting a new third party to disrupt the current system...

The U.S. Marine Corps, in cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has quietly launched a pilot program to station ICE agents at three major military installations: Camp Pendleton in California, Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia, and Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The move, aimed at bolstering security around these bases, has raised as many questions as it seeks to answer. Abby Hall Blanco, a University of Tampa economics and defense professor, weighed in on the lack of transparency surrounding the program’s inception...

#5 Rep. Mark Green Resigns From Congress, Leaving Speaker Johnson With an Even Narrower Republican Majority in the House - Erin Doherty for CNBC, Allan Rose,  Papa Hemingway, New Blue Tennessee, Maggie, and Jonathan Pakianathan on X

Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., announced his official resignation from Congress on Friday, a move that was expected but one that could, at least for now, shrink Republicans’ already narrow majority in the House. “To my constituents across Tennessee’s 7th District—thank you. The trust you put in me is humbling. I will look back fondly on my years of serving as your voice in Washington,” Green wrote in a post on X. With his resignation, Republicans are down to a 219-212 majority in the House, at least until his seat in the solidly red district is filled...

#4 Trump and U.S. Commerce Secretary Say Tariffs Are Delayed Until 1 August, Sparking Confusion - The Guardian, Ada Derana, Jefferson's Violin, Crypto Stash, and Mariah Ali on X

Donald Trump has said his administration plans to start sending letters on Monday to US trade partners dictating new tariffs, amid confusion over when the new rates will come into effect. “It could be 12, maybe 15 [letters],” the president told reporters, “and we’ve made deals also, so we’re going to have a combination of letters and some deals have been made.” With his previously announced 90-day pause on tariffs set to end on 9 July, the president was asked if the new rates would come into effect this week or on 1 August, as some officials had suggested. “No, there are going to be tariffs, the tariffs, the tariffs are going to be, the tariffs,” the president began uncertainly. “I think we’ll have most countries done by July 9, yeah. Either a letter or a deal.”

#3 Trump Threatens Additional Tariffs on Nations ‘Aligning’ With ‘Anti-American’ Brics - Sarah Fortinsky for The Hill, drdivine, Newsmax, Brad Weltler, Carson, LondonLovesBusiness, MarketForces Africa, and Business Times Malaysia on X

President Trump threatened to impose an additional 10 percent tariff on countries “aligning” themselves with the BRICS bloc of developing nations. “Any Country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of BRICS, will be charged an ADDITIONAL 10% Tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Sunday evening.  The threat comes after members of the BRICS group issued a declaration on Sunday condemning the U.S. increase in tariffs, as well as the strikes on Iran, all without mentioning Trump by name. The group’s statement raised “serious concerns” about tariffs, saying they are “inconsistent with WTO (World Trade Organization) rules” and threaten to “reduce global trade, disrupt global supply chains, and introduce uncertainty.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Saturday she plans to introduce a bill aimed at tackling “weather modification.” “I am introducing a bill that prohibits the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity. It will be a felony offense,” she wrote in a Saturday post on X.  “I have been researching weather modification and working with the legislative counsel for months writing this bill,” Greene added.  The Georgia lawmaker said the legislation would resemble Florida’s Senate Bill 56, which was signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in late June...

Fighter jets whooshed by, and a stealth bomber streaked through the air during Friday’s annual White House Fourth of July picnic. The display of might outside was unmistakable, as was the soft power inside the building.  President Trump signed into law his nearly 900-page “Big Beautiful Bill” of tax breaks and spending cuts, affecting millions of Medicaid recipients while growing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency by thousands of workers. The Senate passed the bill earlier in the week, while the Republican-controlled House voted 218-214 in favor of it on Thursday evening, with all Democrats and two Republicans opposed...
