When Army veteran Dan Nevins was forced to medically retire from the military after losing both his legs in combat, he thought he’d be financially taken care of by the country that he served. But Nevins soon discovered the so-called “wounded veterans tax” — an unofficial term for a federal policy that prohibits certain injured veterans from receiving both their full retirement pay and disability compensation. “I was told I could not receive both,” Nevins told NBC News in an interview. “And I was like, ‘Wait a minute. That’s not what I thought was going to happen.”

President Donald Trump shared a new update in his ongoing criticism of Harvard on Monday by revealing plans to potentially send $3 billion of the university’s grant money to trade schools.

The president shared the news in a Truth Social post on Monday morning. “I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land. What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!” he wrote. The Trump administration has revoked Harvard University’s certification to enroll international students, citing national security concerns and alleged foreign influence....

NATO fighter jets were scrambled near Poland's eastern border on Monday as Ukraine was struck by a Russian missile and drone attack. Poland's Armed Forces said that Polish and allied aircraft had taken off amid "renewed activity of the Russian Federation's long-range aviation carrying out missile strikes on facilities located in the territory of Ukraine." Newsweek has contacted the Russian government for comment. Throughout Russia's war in Ukraine, Poland has regularly accused Moscow of carrying out provocative acts along NATO's eastern flank. Warsaw's military has also claimed Russian cruise missiles have entered its airspace...

#6 Donald Trump Grows Angrier as Vladimir Putin Exposes His Impotence - John Bowden for Independent, MAGA Voice, Ian Jaeger, Joey Mannarino, Alex Jones, Republicans Against Trump, and Newt Gingrich on X

As Washington settled in for a typically sleepy Memorial Day following the passage of Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” in the House, the president fired off one of his trademark furious rants on Truth Social, but the target was a surprise. This time, the target wasn’t any of his domestic political foes — like the Democrats who voted in lockstep against the budget package he endorsed, or the handful of Republicans who refused to fall into line. It wasn’t even aimed at the various law enforcement figures who have attempted to hold him to account over the years. Sunday evening’s rant was aimed squarely at Russian President Vladimir Putin. Despite what he called a “very good relationship” with Putin, Trump in his latest statement on the Ukraine-Russia war blasted the Russian leader as “absolutely crazy.”

#5 Kremlin Calls Trump ‘Emotional’ After US President Says Putin Is ‘Crazy' - Laura Gozzi & Jaroslav Lukiv - BBC News, TeinaPOSTS, TheLittleGiant, Roya News English, NEXTA, The Daily Beast, and AL Khammas on X

The Kremlin claimed Donald Trump was showing signs of "emotional overload" after he called Vladimir Putin "absolutely crazy" following Moscow's largest aerial assault on Ukraine. The US president said on Truth Social on Sunday that "something has happened" to Putin, after Russia killed 13 in Ukraine with 367 drones and missiles. "He has gone absolutely crazy," Trump said. "Needlessly killing a lot of people." Dmitry Peskov, Putin's spokesman, said the comments were "connected to an emotional overload of everyone involved". Germany's chancellor, Friedrich Merz, meanwhile, said that Ukraine's allies had removed all range limits on supplied arms, amid reports he would give Kyiv Taurus missiles...

French President Emmanuel Macron‘s wife shoved him in the face as they touched down in Vietnam for a state visit, which the embarrassed-looking leader admitted Monday came while they were “squabbling.” Shocking footage of the incident shows the president’s plane door opening to reveal Macron at the entrance in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, on Sunday evening. Suddenly, his wife Brigitte’s arms emerge from the left of the open doorway as she places both hands on her husband’s face and shoves him firmly. Macron appears startled — but quickly recovers when realizing he is in view, and turns to smile and wave through the open door...

The British far-right activist Tommy Robinson—an alias for his real name, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon—thanked Elon Musk as he walked free from prison on parole after a judge granted him early release. Robinson, 42, was partway through an 18-month jail sentence for violating a court order barring him from repeating libelous allegations against a teenage Syrian refugee, whom he had falsely accused of being a violent bully in school. He made a documentary film titled Silenced about the boy and the legal consequences Robinson faced for repeating his claims, which he shared on X, formerly Twitter, owned by the billionaire Musk...

King Charles and Queen Camilla have landed in Ottawa, at the start of a two-day visit to Canada seen as bringing a message of support for the country in the face of threats and taunts from US President Donald Trump. Prime Minister Mark Carney, who recently won a general election on a wave of anti-Trump sentiment, met the royal couple on the airport runway in Canada's capital. In warm afternoon sunshine, in front of a forest of Canadian flags, the King and Queen were greeted with a mix of a ceremonial guard and community gathering. There were red-jacketed Royal Canadian Mounted Police and crowds of schoolchildren to meet the King and Queen, with an accompanying band playing tea dance music...

#1 Hillary Clinton Is Back and Doing What She Does Best -- Trashing Women - Karol Markowicz for Fox News, MAGA Britton, Stop Abortion Now, Red Line News and TK Talk News on X

Hillary Clinton is back and doing what she does best: trashing women. She wants to make sure we know that the basket of deplorables is also sexist.  During a conversation at the 92nd Street Y in New York City last month, Clinton was asked by Margaret Hoover, host of "Firing Line" on PBS, if she had any advice for the eventual first female president of the United States. Clinton took this opportunity to take a swipe at Republican women. "Well, first of all, don’t be a handmaiden to the patriarchy, which kind of eliminates every woman on the other side of the aisle, except for very few."
