With the advent of RFK Jr. taking the helm of HHS and the goal of Making America Healthy Again, there are many ways to do this, from diet choices to removing chemicals and pesticides from your diet; one very often overlooked method to improve health is raising or growing your own food.

There are many valuable resources online on how to raise animals sustainably, including Joel Salatin, who is a tremendous asset to the homesteading community and has even done an episode with RFK Jr. and featured on The Epoch Times. Growing animals for food is not as accessible for many people; however, raising rabbits or building a chicken tractor are tremendous ideas when space is limited. Joel has plans on how to build your own chicken tractor as well as the concept of regenerative farming.

Another option that is far more accessible and palatable for many is having your own garden so you can grow your own food. Of course, you can go to the grocery store and buy fresh food or even to a local greenhouse to purchase plant seeds; however, it is far more affordable and healthier if you can start your own seeds.

Luke Marion of MIGardener is an excellent resource for gardening and seed starting. On his YouTube channel, he discusses the intricacies of starting seeds, indoor lighting, fertilizers, hardening off (the process of getting your indoor seedlings accustomed to an outdoor permanent growing location), transplanting to the garden, and more. Marion also utilizes raised beds and talks about growing vertically, which are both valuable when space is limited. He prioritizes heritage seeds—including resurrecting a tomato variety not seen for sale in decades using a packet of more than 85-year-old seeds. Marion sells his affordable seeds, a fertilizer he designed as a teenager, and more.

Of course, there are many other valuable resources out there, which I could go on about. If you are serious about taking health into your own hands and want to raise your animals for food or grow your fruits and veggies, these are two great places to start your quest.
