Donald Trump has said that he will sign an executive order imposing a 25% tariff on all products coming into the United States from Mexico and Canada and additional tariffs on China once he becomes US president again.“On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States and its ridiculous Open Borders,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. Trump said the tariffs would remain in place until the two countries clamp down on drugs, particularly fentanyl, and migrants crossing the border illegally...

British and French troops could be among European allies deployed to deter the Kremlin from attacking Ukraine again. And they could train Ukrainian forces, similar to how they did before Moscow ordered a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. A British military source told French newspaper Le Monde: "Discussions are underway between the UK and France regarding defense cooperation, particularly with the aim of creating a core of allies in Europe, focused on Ukraine and broader European security,"

The BBC reported that AstraZeneca and Pfizer are credited with together saving more than 12 million lives in the first year of COVID vaccination. To substantiate this claim, the BBC refers to Airfinity, a ‘disease forecasting company’. Airfinity used an Imperial College London study, which calculated that Covid vaccines saved 20 million lives between December 2020 and December 2021. Using a mathematical model, the Imperial team assumed that vaccination conferred protection against COVID infection (mRNA vaccines were estimated to have given 88 percent protection against infection after the second dose) and the development of severe disease requiring hospital admission. The team also assumed that those who develop infection are less infectious than unvaccinated individuals...

Judge Robert Craig Carter highlighted the murky ethics behind the controversial treatments for gender dysphoria in his ruling on challenges from LGBTQ civil rights activists against the Save Adolescents From Experimentation Act, which was signed into law last year. “The evidence from trial showed that the medical ethics of gender dysphoria treatment for children and adolescents are entirely unsettled,” Carter, who sits on the 44th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri, wrote in a lengthy 72-page ruling...
