A Georgia judge on Thursday dismissed two criminal counts in the U.S. state's 2020 election interference case against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and one other count against allies of the former president. Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee found that state prosecutors did not have the authority to bring those charges, which related to the alleged filing of false documents in federal court.

#9 La Pinata: Mexican Officials Reportedly Selling ‘Humanitarian’ Visas to Migrants Heading to the U.S. - Monica Showalter for American Thinker

In Mexico, they call it la piñata. That's the transition period between two presidents where the outgoing president and his minions supposedly steal everything that isn't nailed down before exiting office. Their appetites are boundless. By legend, one of them even unscrewed and stole the light bulbs. But for us in the States, this isn't funny...

Mexico’s National Institute of Migration (INM) announced the arrival of the first bus of migrants under its new “Secure Emerging Mobility Corridor” program. The program offers migrants free transportation, including meals and security from the Mexico/Guatemala border to ports of entry in the United States, where they will be admitted under the Biden-Harris CBP One app...

#7 Ron Desantis Declares War on Widespread Ballot Petition Fraud - Daniel Horowitz for Blaze Media, Ron DeSantis

While the Florida media whines about ‘political interference,’ the governor and state election officials are purging voter rolls of noncitizens and denying questionable signatures. Election integrity has been the top concern for many Republican voters, but despite their complaints, few Republicans have taken significant action. Florida stands out. Instead of resorting to window dressing, press conferences, and memes, Gov. Ron DeSantis established an election integrity unit within the state’s law enforcement agency, which has actively pursued criminal fraud charges. Now, he is elevating his efforts to clean up elections to a new... level.

#6 Dem Sen. Blumenthal Says Americans Will Be ‘Shocked’ and ‘Appalled’ by Trump Assassination Attempt Report - Louis Casiano, David Spunt and Fox News, Jack Paso on X

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., predicted that Americans will be "shocked" and "appalled" when lawmakers release their interim report on the assassination attempt on former President Trump and the security failures of those involved in protecting the GOP presidential nominee.  Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe provided senators with an update Thursday on the investigation into the failed assassination in a closed-door meeting. "I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president," Blumenthal told Fox News. "But I think they also ought to be appalled and astonished by the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to be more forthcoming, to be as candid and frank, as it should be to them in terms of providing information."

#5 Florida Advises Against Use of mRNA COVID Vaccine Heading Into the Fall and Winter - Eric Daugherty for Florida Voice, Harry Fisher, Mary Talley Bowden MD and Shadow of Ezra on X

The Florida Department of Health this week advised against using mRNA COVID-19 vaccines heading into the fall and winter, typically a season with an uptick in respiratory illness. The department said that for those 65 and older with underlying health conditions concerned about COVID-19, providers should “prioritize patient access to non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and treatment.” Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo said in the new guidance that Floridians should prioritize being active, minimize processed foods, prioritize vegetables and healthy fats, and to spend time outdoors to improve vitamin D levels...

#4 Yes, Tim Walz Just Called Kamala Harris a Prostitute (Sort Of) - Matt Vespa for Townhall, Donald Trump Jr. on X and Ronald Depena on YouTube
The body language says it all: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz called Kamala Harris a prostitute at a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It’s the first time Walz will be left alone on the trail for official 2024 business, but I think this moment might be what defines the trip. He called Harris a “prostitutor.” It’s the worst kind of Freudian slip. The campaign thinks harping on Harris's legal days is a positive, though it has yet to prove beneficial for the California liberal in any meaningful way in the polls...

#3 Meet the California Car Rental Company at the Center of a Massive National Theft Ring - Tyler Durden ZeroHedge and on X

A California car rental company was found to be at the center of a nationwide crime-tourism spree, authorities in Los Angeles revealed this week.  U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said during a news conference on Wednesday: "Those thinking they can come to our country, take advantage of our liberties, and steal from the American people should think again." Estrada claimed that two operators of Driver Power Rentals, a Los Angeles car rental company, brought in South American criminals to steal millions in cash and property from businesses and homes in Southern California and nationwide, according to KFOX TV. "There will be serious consequences for those people, and we will collaborate with our local partners in creative ways to make sure we're holding you accountable," Estrada added...

#2 Trump Says He Would End All Taxes on Overtime Pay at First Post-debate Rally - Megan Lebowitz for NBC News, Charlie Kirk, and GOP on X

Former President Donald Trump said at a campaign rally Thursday that he would eliminate taxes on overtime pay if he wins a second term in November. "I’m also announcing that as part of our additional tax cuts, we will end all taxes on overtime," he said in Tucson, Arizona. "That gives people more of an incentive to work. It gives the companies a lot — it's a lot easier to get the people," he added. Trump said that when workers are past 40 hours a week, "your overtime hours will be tax-free." The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for details about the plan. After the remarks, the Harris campaign called Trump's proposal "his latest snake oil sales pitch."

#1 High Doses of ADHD Drugs Linked to a Greater Risk of Psychosis - Akshay Syal, M.D. for NBC News, Not the Bee, the Epoch Times, and Heather Russell on X

Taking a high dose of ADHD drugs is linked to more than five times greater risk of developing psychosis or mania, according to a new study published Thursday in the American Journal of Psychiatry. The research is among the first to find a relationship between escalating doses of the drugs — amphetamines, in particular — and a greater likelihood of psychotic symptoms.  The drugs include Adderall, Vyvanse, and generic amphetamines, such as dextroamphetamine. The link between amphetamines and psychosis isn’t new. Amphetamines increase levels of dopamine in the brain. The neurotransmitter plays a number of roles in the body, including in memory, motivation, and mood, but it’s also implicated in psychosis.

The former US president sent a birthday letter to an eight-year-old who suffers from a rare brain disorder and growth hormone deficiency. “It’s amazing how a small gesture, even for a complete stranger, can brighten someone’s world or even change it completely,” Mr Macpherson said. “So good on you, Donald Trump.”
