Did he ever see this going well? California Gov. Gavin Newsom took to X to ask for submissions on a coin design for the state and the replies were exactly what you’d expect. But maybe not what Newsom expected — not even his Taylor Swift reference helped. The coin is to be part of a U.S. Mint series that salutes innovation in each of the 50 states. It’s the kind of idea that can generate a lot of positive reactions. But Newsom probably didn’t love the response. The Democrat quickly got hundreds of designs in his comments featuring different negative aspects of the Golden State... Ford lost $1.3 billion in its electric vehicle department during the first quarter of 2024, which is about $132,000 per vehicle it sold. The loss is due to the car maker lowering the price of its electric models while also appropriating funds for further research. Electric vehicle revenue brought in $100 million, which is an 84% drop from last year. Meanwhile, the Ford Pro department, which primarily sells internal combustion models, reported a profit of $3 billion. Its Ford Blue department made a revenue of $21 billion, but this was actually a 13% decrease. So, when totaled altogether, Ford’s overall profit was $1.3 billion — one-fifth less than the previous year... A group of 24 states is fighting a decision by Joe Biden to yank Oklahoma’s health care funds just because it’s pro-life. Oklahoma has filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration for denying it federal health care funds because it refuses to use them to fund abortions. And almost half the states in the nation are coming to its defense. As LifeNews reported previously, pro-life states’ efforts to expand essential health care to women and families are being thwarted by the very same people who accuse these states of failing to provide it. First, it was Texas, and then Oklahoma was denied funding to expand medical care to low-income women by Joe Biden’s administration. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rescinded a $4.5 million Title X grant to the Oklahoma State Department of Health to provide family planning services, such as birth control, counseling, STI testing and treatment, and other health services, to low-income individuals... President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to keep detention space unfilled as several recent cases revealed that criminal illegal aliens were released into American communities after crossing the United States-Mexico border. As of April 25, DHS had just a little more than 34,000 illegal aliens in its detention facilities — a fraction of the 6.2 million illegal aliens who, by the end of Fiscal Year 2023, are in deportation proceedings but are living throughout the U.S. on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) non-detained docket... Drug shortages in the U.S. are at a record high, leaving countless patients in limbo. A total of 323 drugs were in shortage in the first quarter of this year, up from the previous high of 320 in 2014, according to data published last week by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the University of Utah Drug Information Service. That’s the most medicines since the groups began tracking shortages in 2001. So, which drugs do the shortfalls affect? Former President Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis met privately in Miami on Sunday, multiple Republicans with knowledge of the meeting confirmed to Fox News. During the several-hour meeting, DeSantis agreed to help Trump as the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee tries to close his fundraising gap with President Biden in their 2024 election rematch, the sources confirmed.
