Sometimes IG reports tell us a lot more than we bargained for.
Andrew McCabe leaked a story about the investigation of the Clinton Foundation to the Wall St. Journal, and then lied under oath four times in his interviews about it during questioning by the IG and inspection division of the FBI. The leaks are back in the news after the DOJ announced it would not be pursuing charges, despite seating a grand jury in the matter.
However, that isn’t the most important part of this story.
The 40-page Inspector General report that prompted the criminal referral and preceeded Andrew McCabes termination from the FBI was released in April of 2018. What many don’t realize is that it also demonstrates massive potential corruption at the highest levels of the Obama DOJ. Then Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Andrew McCabe threatened the NY Field office and NYPD with arrests, should they disclose what they found on the laptop of Anthony Weiner.
Let’s rewind to November of 2016. James Comey had just announced they were reopening the investigation into the Clinton email matter because of emails found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop in a related sexting case. Weiner was later convicted of the charges. On November 4, 2016, Erik Prince did an interview on Breitbart News Daily (broadcast on Sirius XM) where he shared damning information about what was happening in the case.
At the time, it was relegated to “conspiracy theory”, because as Erik Prince indicated in the interview:
“They found State Department emails. They found a lot of other really damning criminal information, including money laundering, including the fact that Hillary went to this sex island with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Bill Clinton went there more than 20 times. Hillary Clinton went there at least six times,” he said.
“The amount of garbage that they found in these emails, of criminal activity by Hillary, by her immediate circle, and even by other Democratic members of Congress was so disgusting they gave it to the FBI, and they said, ‘We’re going to go public with this if you don’t reopen the investigation and you don’t do the right thing with timely indictments,’” Prince explained.”
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested on charges of pedophilia in 2019. He died controversially while awaiting trial in the case.
Prince states that the NYPD and FBI in NY were facing enormous pressure in the matter. He says that they were ready to indict on matters outside of the email investigation, but that the Attorney General at the time, Loretta Lynch, threatened the office with prosecution in the racially charged Eric Garner case should they move forward with charges or speaking to the press. Erik states:
“I believe – I know, and this is from a very well-placed source of mine at 1PP, One Police Plaza in New York – the NYPD wanted to do a press conference announcing the warrants and the additional arrests they were making in this investigation, and they’ve gotten huge pushback, to the point of coercion, from the Justice Department, with the Justice Department threatening to charge someone that had been unrelated in the accidental heart attack death of Eric Garner almost two years ago. That’s the level of pushback the Obama Justice Department is doing against actually seeking justice in the email and other related criminal matters,”
UncoverDC can corroborate what Prince stated in that interview, because Andrew McCabe and the NY ADIC of the FBI stated the same in the IG Report released two years after Prince's Breitbart interview.
From the 2018 report:
On October 26, 2016, McCabe and NY-ADIC participated in what McCabe described as “a hastily convened conference call with the Attorney General who delivered the same message to us” about leaks, with specific focus being on leaks regarding the high-profile investigation by FBI’s New York Field Office into the death of Eric Garner. McCabe told us that he “never heard her use more forceful
language.” NY-ADIC confirmed that the participants got “ripped by the AG on leaks.”
Also adding gusto to Prince’s interview, is the fact that two days before the conference call, Loretta Lynch swapped out the team that had been investigating the Garner case on a federal level, with a brand new set of prosecutors. Eric Garner died during his 2014 arrest for selling illegal cigarettes, in a case that ignited national tensions about the techniques used to subdue Garner and police brutality. His last words, “I can’t breathe”, became a rallying cry at protests throughout the country. At the time, ABC news reported this was likely because they had been facing a stalemate in that investigation; a grand jury on Staten Island had failed to indict, and they weren’t getting anywhere federally either. From the piece:
“One possibility is that federal prosecutors closest to the investigation don’t believe there is enough evidence to bring charges, but are being pushed by DOJ in Washington, D.C., to continue the investigation and bring a case forward, according to civil rights attorneys who spoke to ABC News”
The Clinton email investigation was later closed without bringing charges against Clinton, a move that has been scrutinized ever since.
From all we have learned, it is becoming very clear that Obama’s Attorney General and Andrew McCabe were trying to keep the NYPD and the FBI from prosecuting criminality, and took steps to enforce those threats. As McCabe escapes prosecution on charges of lying to investigators, the rest of the country is left wondering if we will ever see justice for crimes uncovered, but politically squelched.
