On Wednesday, September 16, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was a guest on the Fox News show, Outnumbered, discussing the costs of the recent riots. When Gingrich brought up the fact that George Soros funds races for left-leaning district attorneys who are releasing criminals back onto the streets, he was told (a) that George Soros did NOT fund their races, and (b) there was no reason to bring up George Soros.
Gingrich paused a moment and said, “Okay … so it’s verboten?”
After his question, there was seven seconds of awkward silence – an eternity on live television. Finally, with the technical director struggling to decide whose face to show on the screen, anchor Harris Faulkner changed the topic and moved on without acknowledging Gingrich any further.
Evidence is clear that the ladies on Outnumbered are wrong. George Soros does, indeed fund campaigns for far-left county and district attorney races. A detailed investigation by UncoverDC in November of 2019 revealed how Soros pumped $2 million into four attorney races in Virginia, and the Washington Post also reported on Soros funding prosecutors’ campaigns.
As Soros explains in interviews, he simply identifies loopholes in political systems and exploits them. He proudly tells interviewers that this is his technique, laughing about it along the way.
The question the remains to be answered is why the Fox News hosts did not want to talk about George Soros.
Transcript of the discussion:
When discussing the costs of the riots, Fox News host Harris Faulkner said, “Speaker Gingrich, I know you have a final thought for us.”
Newt Gingrich: “The number one problem in almost all these cities is George Soros-elected left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up. Just yesterday they put somebody back on the street who’s wanted for two different murders in New York City. You cannot solve this problem – and both Harris and Biden have talked very proudly about what they call ‘progressive district attorneys’ – progressive district attorneys are anti-police, pro-criminal, and overwhelmingly elected with George Soros’s money, and they’re a major cause of the violence you’re seeing, because they keep putting the violent criminals back on the street.”
Melissa Francis: “I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this.”
Newt Gingrich: “He paid for it. I mean, why can’t we discuss the fact that millions of dollars get spent?”
Marie Harf: “No, he didn’t. I agree with Melissa. George Soros doesn’t need to be a part of this conversation.”
New Gingrich: “Okay. So it’s verboten?”
LONG, AWKARD 7-SECOND PAUSE
Harris Faulkner: “Okay, we’re going to move on.”
Faulkner then changed the topic without acknowledging Gingrich any further.
