Is it Time for Protests, Prayer, or Both?

As the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry continues in secret, which is a clear violation of House rules, House Republicans have actively protested the closed-door meetings. None who were protesting were committee members, but they’ve been complaining (rightfully) about the “Soviet style process” the Democrats are using in their impeachment inquiry. As such, their actions were taken mainly to draw attention to the shady proceedings.

Why did they do this? Because Legacy media is not doing its job.

You’d think that a truly unbiased media would be knocking on those closed doors, demanding transparency. However, as I’ve written in the past, people with politically far Left views now run most of the Legacy media companies. The result? We now listen to reports from “Journalists in Name Only,” who consistently spin their “news” in favor of the Democrats / Marxists / Socialists.

Think about what’s happening. The Democrats are taking selected phrases from people’s testimony and then leaking them to their cohorts in the Media, who dutifully report them. Of course, the only information they’re leaking is carefully chosen to make Trump look bad. Translated: They’re blatantly violating House rules so they can try this impeachment in the court of public opinion.

Past impeachment perspectives

As former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich recently said to Fox’s Tucker Carlson, “I think this [impeachment] is a really bad decision.”

Gingrich, who was Speaker during Clinton’s impeachment in 1998, reminded Carlson that at that time, the House had solid proof in the form of an independent counsel’s report that President Clinton had seven counts against him, including felonies.

In comparison, Gingrich referred to Pelosi’s inquiry as something we’d see on Saturday Night Live. He pointed out that she rushed to the microphone to announce an impeachment inquiry without even having read any of the documents she cited as reasons to proceed with impeachment.

Sadly, the Legacy media won’t report the obvious: the current leadership in the House of Representatives is running amok, knowingly violating Congressional rules as they try to find a way to get rid of President Trump and prevent him from being re-elected.  Therefore, I think Republicans are right to stage their protest and call this farce for the sham it is.  Doing so finally got some attention on the fact that Democrats are running secret proceedings. After all, the Legacy media has been downplaying that.

Of course, the Democrats are claiming the Republicans’ protest is an attempt to intimidate witnesses, but anymore we expect them to say anything to steer attention away from the fact they’re in violation of House rules.

Therefore, as long as the Legacy media continues to fail in its role of keeping both sides of government accountable, I think this kind of action from the Republicans is valid.

Even after exposure, Leftwing bias continues

As you are probably aware, James O’Keefe and his Project Veritas staff released a series of hidden-camera videos showing just how far left CNN really is (see my thoughts on this).  For those who are truly woke, this revelation was nothing new.  Many have known that CNN has been the propaganda arm for the Democrats for a long time.  Republicans, conservatives, and Christians get hard ball interviews;  Democrats, Socialists, and Muslims get softballs.

But even after the Veritas videos exposed the bias, it still continues.

Take Anderson Cooper’s recent interview of Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris.   As tweeted by the Washington Examiner, Harris said Trump’s lawyer and former New York Mayor Rudi Giuliani needed to be investigated because, “he has clearly broken many laws.” Those were her exact words.

After Harris continued making accusations, Cooper asked her a question. I’m guessing he thought he’d be getting a scoop by having Harris spell out specific crimes right there on his show. He asked, “Are there specific laws you believe Giuliani has broken – or may have broken?”

His add-on even gave her an out. “May have broken” opened wide the doors for Harris to speculate.

Still, in reply, Harris first looked shocked, and then she stuttered as she said, “Well, I don’t know, but we’re going to find out.” And then Cooper let her go on talking.

Swing and a miss, Anderson. You missed the opportunity to be a real journalist. You clearly caught Kamala Harris stating unequivocally, “he [Giuliani] has clearly broken many laws,” but when you asked which ones and she couldn’t name any, you just let it go.

Let’s turn the table for minute. Had Cooper’s guest been a conservative, you can bet your next paycheck that had the guest answered Cooper’s question with, “Well, I don’t know, but we’re going to find out,” Cooper would have pushed back hard with something like, “But you just stated, ‘he has clearly broken many laws.’ How can you say that when you can’t name any?”

In other words, Cooper, being biased, gave Harris a total pass. He would have skewered a conservative for offering the same answer, but because of his Left-wing bias he let her slide.

The need to demand unbiased reporting

Lately, I’ve been pondering an idea: more needs to be made of these Left-wing double standards and the strong media bias. As you know, the far Left creates their own news by staging protests, then having their Public Relations Department report on those protests. Some protests are known to be funded so protestors actually show up, but no doubt others genuinely believe in whatever cause they’re for or against.

The point is, these protests get some Left-wing issue into the news cycle, and then the Left-wing base – about 30 percent of the population – sides with them.  I know, because the Left-wingers in my own extended family recite the Left-wing talking points as if they’re gospel truth, even though they’ve never studied the issue before.

Therefore, I personally think it’s time that Libertarians and Conservatives start protesting in front of newsrooms that are known to be biased. Can you imagine seeing pictures of protestors holding signs outside CNN headquarters in Atlanta that read, “Stop the Media Bias!” and “Report Real News!” Then can you image seeing those pictures making their way across all the social media platforms?

Such protests wouldn’t have to be limited to corporate headquarters. I think it would be great to see “Stop the Media Bias!” protests outside every biased ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliate across the country.  Naturally, if these were to occur, all such protests would need to be peaceful and factual. They could be loud, or they could be quiet, but they should always be peaceful and factual.

To be clear, it is my own dream to see these happen. I’m not in partnership with anyone to get these started and I won’t spearhead any effort to coordinate them. But if these protests happened, I believe a greater level of awareness would enter the national conversation. And maybe – just maybe – we could reduce the amount of Leftist propaganda being spewed at us.

The groundwork is already in place. Over the past few years we’ve started seeing conservatives stand up to Left-wing mischaracterizations and false claims. Now led by a bombastic President who doesn’t take crap off anybody, we’ve witnessed more people coming on the political scene with principles and spines. Representatives Mark Meadows and Dan Crenshaw come to mind, as does Candace Owens and many others.  You get my point. More and more Libertarian and Republican leaders are standing up for what’s right and they’re making their voices heard.

Don’t want to protest? I get it. There was this guy who walked around the Middle East about 2,000 years ago who advocated praying for people who are against you, and millions of people have copies of the book that focuses on His life and His teaching. If you would rather pray than protest, I have it on good authority that there’s tremendous power in that effort, too.

Bottom line, I think it’s time for Americans to start actively countering the Democrat / Marxist / Socialist tactics that are destroying the fabric of our country.  You could protest, you could pray, or you could do both. Whatever appeals most to you, I think the time is right for Americans to step up and make their voices heard against the bias and double standards that threaten to ruin our country.
